UK Sti v UK WRX
#1
My car (UK WRX MY01) was in for a service this week in York at FR Pulleyn.
They lent me their UK STi demonstrator. Very nice indeed, positive steering, firm suspension and certainly felt plenty quicker than my current (standard) car.
Anyone else had the chance to compare as seriously thinking of changing next year when new revised model is out?

Have had both, and yes the STi is a far better car in many ways, but then you would expect it to be for the money ;-)
I do think the STi7 (in order to make it the car it should be) needs to have the PPP so thats an extra couple of grand on top of the predicted 27500 for the MY03 STi, and given the delays with the MY02 STi PPP I wouldn't expect the 03 version to be out until the summer at the earliest.
I have to admit I am also thinking of upgrading the MY02 STi for a MY03, as the bug eye look never really grew on me, so it will be interesting to compaire the two.

I went from a std My01 WRX to an Sti7.
Totally different cars. If I did a higher mileage, and there was a motorway within 100 miles of me then the WRX might be worth considering. With the low mileage I do, most of it on A class or back roads, then the STi7 is defo the better machine.
The 01 WRX isnt a bad car, it's just not as much fun to drive as it should be, too quiet and civilised for me.
