Twin Turbo Scooby.

The turbos are sequential. One for lower revs and one for higher. The manual B4 is a nice motor. You can make extremely rapid progress without knowing it. No kick in the pants like the IMpreza because of the twin turbos smoothing out the lag. They are also 2.5 litre motors.

Apologies for what might seem a stupid question, but a neighbour has his brothers yellow Scooby Estate thingy and he insists its a special twin turbo model.
He got quite angry that I should doubt him so I backed off, I was under the impression that no twin turbo scoobys exist?
So tell me it aint true!

P.S Does anyone know who owns a very loud burgandy M reg scooby in Newmarket? Ask him to slow down around 30mph zones, it isnt doing his or the marques image any good.

It'll be a Legacy GT-B twin turbo (or similar) I nearly bought an auto one for the motorway commute. It's a similar motor to the Impreza, but with 2 smaller turbos for faster spool up and more midrange.

I think they produce the same power. The one I nearly bought was 260PS as standard according to the official stats. They'll be slower due to extra weight, but a good fast smooth driver, I really, really liked it.

xcuse the pedantic mode but:
sequential turbos as in primary up to 4000 rpm and then both primary and secondary together therafter.
Also 1998 cc NOT a 2.5l
join the legacyb4 group on yahoo groups for everything to do with these

It is rumoured that the Japan market Rex and Rex STi's resurgent performance slant was brought on by the fact that the B4 and GT-B manuals are as quick as the Impreza these days (note: I did not say STi ).
The bad news for some is that the next Leagcy (due midway through next year, but may arrive early) will likely not go backwards in performance terms, and will probably be lighter than the current one

Of course the next Legacy won't go backwards in terms of performance - the just released Toyota Caldina GT-T & future Galant VR-4s will see to that.
The twin-turbo Legacy has much more torque than the export WRX, & the B4 RSK is not that much heavier than the export WRX.
