can i blag a w plate registration although my car is a 93 import?
you see on the v5 it says the year of manufacture is 2000 and this is the min requirement if you want to reg a w plate for your car.
any advice gratefully received
weava
also some one point me in the direction of getting smilies - not just static ones - i want ones that jump up and down and allsorts!
you need to be specific in the methodology - i am thick :d - see i can do most of those ones!

What plate is on the car at the minute? an L reg plate?
You cannot make a car look newer than it is..
Does the V5 say 'first registered in the country 2000' and 'manufactured 1993' or similar ???
If the V5 says it was first register or manufactured in 2000 then you can put a 2000 or older plate on it..
Otherwise if it says 93 which it must, then you can only put a 93 or older plate on it..
Loads of info at www.dvla.gov.uk

i want w3 ava as my number. as you can see from my profile my user id and also my dj name ( and my surname which is "weaver")would be represented by the plate. i also run a company called "weaver bros.
could'nt care a jot about how old the car appears, ain't worth that much anyway, and i prob won't sell it for ages any how.

Sorry for the delay in replying to your reply..
If the v5 says 2000 then you might get away with it..
you will have to send your tax disk and mot though to the VRO to get the registrations swapped and I believe the MOT will have the manufacture date on it? you could get it MOT'd again at a friendly garge but a reasonable amount of effort..
Also when they see the L reg plate is on it they will probably twig
Have a look on the DVLA site at the plates though and see.. always look there before the reg sights as they advertise the plate of the DVLA site with a mark up quite often.
