Check out Autodrader.co.uk According to them the new shpae STi will not be exported outside Japan. What a shame!

It's a good question of how much stays "domestic" tho - twin scroll unit? Front suspension revision? Other trick bits?

Yep, seems to be all that, and more.
Another ploy by FHI to keep us paying more for the lower models than the Japanese pay for top stuff? And yet Honda can export their top Civic from here to Japan for less than we pay over here!!!
And we thought this sort of trick would die out under new regs. Oh look, there's another pig flying past my window...............

I think you'll find the supension revision is across the board. What we're not getting is the trick turbo and adjustable dif. What we get is what Autocar tested a few weeks ago.

Medders,

You're right, but I just wanted to make it clear that the new shape STi will be available here, albeit with less power, but with most of the other '03 mods.

On that subject, I was exchanging emails with an engineer before the spec was released, and he expressed doubts that they'd be able to address emissions issues on the new turbo before it was released in the UK. He was obviously spot on.

Sorry Josh. Didn't mean to sound argumentative. Just P1sses me off that we can't get what we want without going down the grey route.

Do Prodrive have any plans for a hot version? Anyone from Prodrive want to give the enthusiasts a bit of inside info? (Before I lose faith and buy a Merc)

Red face

Oh well as UK dealers pack in Subaru and we get the expensive slow
sh*te end of the stick Final nail in the coffin IM may as well ask the last bloke out the to turn the light off and lock the doors

The S202 was £19K in Japan so how much will an STi8 be £15K?? looks like grey imports all round. or a Nissan or Alpha.

Related subject - anyone know if there are any cars sold new in Europe with the electric centre diff, or is that an Asia-only option as well?
