was a held 16psi for 18k miles

its now been at 18psi for nearly 12k miles and its flying but dont know how long till it goes bang?

dont mind if it does go bang - i got £8k put to one side for a rebuild to get me as close to a 400bhp beast as i can

i bounce it off the limiter in every gear and so far its held up

run it on sul plus loadsa octane booster so must be at least 100 ron if not more which i think helps

will go bang on the way to wrk now i said it

hmmmmmm 400bhp

Brian

ronnie,

this is a really long thread, but worth the read..

http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadID=119754

it seems 16.5psi (in a jap spec WRX) should be ok if the mapping is accurate enough. needless to say, a certain Mr Taylor will be in possession of my ECU this morning to work his magic.

My car: MY95 WRX (11/94 manufacture), rebuilt/blueprint engine (30K ago), induction kit, full decat with performance downpipe, standard fuel pump, FSI regulator, standard injectors, standard internals.

So while the above list seems long, my engine is possibly as standard as yours, just quite young and the remap to 16.5psi should be fine.

Regards,

Kev

Cool

Target boost is 1.15bar - MY99 with Ecutek3 custom remap.

Personally I wouldn't have bu66ered about with boost alone, as engine rebuilds are much more expensive than custom remaps.

si,

If I wanted mate I could run circa 38psi....but methinks it would be a little undriveable on track !

Ian, it's a Bluesprint prepared car running Pectel...all done by Joe Stevens there

Hi all.

I have Defi gauges and it stays at 1 on maximum boost. I take it that is 1 bar. What is the PSI. Also it seems 1 is also the maximum it will go.

is it easy to increase the boost?

What is the default boost that comes with MY01 Wrxs'.

Also I have accidently reached the limiter on my Car and it puts it automatically in Neutreul. Is this very bad? Have I damaged anything?

TIA. Sorry if the questions seem abit basic.

Snoops

Mellow,
Yeah I knew Bluesprint built your motor as I followed the thread on RSOC but didn't know they mapped cars also. Is it a T4 you're running?

Si,
A held figure of 44psi?? Are you sure mate?? I've never heard of a figure that high before on a cossie motor. Max I've seen is 38psi at peak I think which is Bruce Reads RS500 dynoed at 542bhp.

Cheers,
Ian

Talking

Thanks for all the replys, ive just found ourt my cars got a unishia jecs 'MINES' ecu and a HKS super drager? exhaust. Didnt even know it. its running 1.2 bar. Anyone got any ideas what BHP that would be on a MY94 WRX with magnex decat downpipe, above named exhaust, and ecu, K+N induction kit, and thats it. Also what is a standard WRX boost is it the same as a uk car? and what is it?

Many thanks
Ronnie

probably around 280, but would depend on the method of measurement.

1.2bar is quite high, and I'm wondering how they (mines) have got around the fuel cut/MAP sensor issue.

no Idea, it must be built into the ecu. there was no boost control device and no fuel cut raiser visible. Carnt believe how quick it is now Ive sorted all my faulty sensors out and put a magnex downpipe on.

Anyone know a web site for Mines, or Unisha Jecs?
Anyone know how much the ECU is worth, or is it part of a tunning package?

Dont know how to tell if the internals have been moded without stripping it down so carnt figure out if anything else has been done.
Regards Ronnie
