Red face

bloke that works for me has bought a clio 172bhp.

yes it is fast, but other than taking the gloves off and giving him a good shafting in my scoob, i am suffering from his continual comments regarding his perceived pace of his new machine, in comparison to my beastie! all of it is in the best possible humour, but i need to nip this foolishness in the bud before i have to take disciplinary action against his in-subordination! lol!

does'nt help that he is fifty odd and i am twenty three!

"you don't stand a chance against my wealth of driving experience"

- blah blah blah -

please fuel me with banter - i am running out of ideas!

Oh dear, if you have a standard uk turbo, then I think he'll have you on the track.

Best thing to do is talk about rap music and how you blare da ragga tunes in your ride and how cool it is cruise up and down the high street at 5mph so everybody sees you n ting - including dem fit gyal who wanna ride u in da back seat - he'll soon shut it!

Tell him you're gonna buy a Clio 172 for your missus as it's the 'ideal shopping runabout'.
And some 'nicole' 'papa' jokes probably wouldn't go amiss either !

i am fairly satisfied that i won't have too much trouble with him. just need to keep banter flowing!

agreed that "nicole, papa" is a good one. surely as he is papa, the old sod!

anyway i have nicole! and a poxy clio would'nt be fast enough for her anyway. she likes scoobs

quote from her upon me buying scoob:

"jesus, i just loooove the way it accelerates!" amidst mucho childish giggling from her and a couple of her mates that came for the ride.

he is getting close to being sorted out though! the moment will come...

Question

why not just quote the 0-60 times?
the clio172cup does it in 6.9s if I remember correctly, a full second (or more?) slower than your scoobie. Also it's powerfully front wheel drive which aint no good

what's the problem?

plus I test drove one not so long ago (foolishly thinking of trading down from my scoob) and thought it was a bag of ****e. the clutch bite sits so high it takes an age to quick-shift. Interior is pretty poor too - no, really, worse than a scoob IMO!
