You may recall 6 months ago I put a posting up about a local impreza in Edinburgh that gave me a darn good spanking when I was in the VTS.
Who should I run into this morning
As luck would have it we were the first two cars round the Gogar roundabout from the lights and it was only us from the Gogar to Hermiston Gate (about 3/4 miles of straight dual road) so we had a chance to really let rip. He was in front and by a fairly silly speed I'd slowly passed. We dropped back our speed for the merging traffic and there was flashes, toots and grins all round!
Anyone else got some payback in the past.....tell your story here
BTW, still looking for the white astra GSI with yellow (yuck!) spoilers that goes around Edinburgh cause he wasted my Polo 1.3 once

You amaze me by some of the threads you start mate
Your flame suit obviously hasn't had nearly enough use recently therefore you feel the need to see if it still works
Here goes another 14 pages of you getting wound up again

Nice one SB!!
Revenge is sweet eh
Whilst me and all my mates were all driving about in 5turbo's and Escort RS's... one of my friends Andy who was at uni at the time went out... got a loan... and bought a GTIR!!!!!!!! Bstrd!!
So... Thinking that i would not be able to buy a car to compete with him and a baby looming i bought a GSI Vectra
After realising the error of my ways i sold the vectra and bought my Scoob...
Now things have changed i have got the best bit of Scooby/GTIR filming known to man!!!
Imagine 2 friends... 2 cars... 1 drag strip....
Scooby 12.8
Sunny 14.0
And some absolute quality filming by my mate James!!
Every so often Andy gets a little reminder.... lol
Not quite the same but still got my revenge!! when i get soem webspace i will host the race..

Giving Scooby drivers a good name again I see
I've only recently moved to that area of Edinburgh and was amazed how empty the stretch of roads was..it was tumbleweed city Hope its like that every morning
No fuel surge this time: I had a full tank, 4 new toyos, new front disks and pads, I was wearing my seatbelt, I hadn't been drinking, I was fully awake and myself and the other scooby kept a good distance from each other so the do-gooders - you know the ones that never go fast in there Impreza but somehow only get 200 miles to a tank - can go back to sleep
I'm flame proof now Your words can't hurt me! FWIW the car is brilliant now its got good rubber and bumpsteer/geometry. Its very predictable through the bends, feels more planted and I feel a lot more comfortable with it. Bumpsteer/geometry is money well spent IMO

Actually, in my opinion any third party witnessing us would have thought we conducted ourselves in a very sensible manner despite the obvious speeding
Not attacking you mate but do you honestly think that many on here will agree with that

Fair enough - it's just a pity you have brought your Saxo (et al) mentality to Subaru ownership.
If it makes you feel better just because you were able overtake someone 'at a fairly silly speed' then perhaps you should think about why you feel the need to continue making your car more powerful. How many more drivers in Edinburgh await your revenge?
I'm glad I live a long way from you!
Just a thought..............

Anyone who comes on here saying they don't speed, interact with other like minded speed users is a lying feckwit or a dullard that should hand their scoob over to me

Yawn, yawn, boring - boring!
Maybe I'm different but when I see nova's, Saxo's, etc nailing it through traffic 2 feet of each others bumpers, weaving in and out, etc I think 'neds' 'boy racers' But, I remember once I saw a couple of TVR's chasing each other down the otherside of the bypass with no other traffic on their side and I smiled cause they had the opportunity for a safe tussle and cause I could hear the roar - and yes they were flying....big time! I suppose those 30-odd years olds in £45k worth of supercar are boy racers too
Racing on the roads isn't safe and isn't legal but there are countless times where is is possible to have some fun without risking other people lives.
The bottom line is we weren't racing. I didn't actually care who was in front when we caught the other traffic it was just fun that we both got the chance to floor it at the same time. A massive percentage of scooby drivers would have jumped at the chance (given our conjested roads ) to give it some from a roundabout like that and I'd have done just the same if the other driver hadn't been there - he was an added bonus and was grinning just as much as me.
Your right though, I admit we did exceed the posted speed limit for about 15 seconds but I'd appreciate a show of hands from all those people who have never came off an roundabout onto a dual road and not floored it till beyond the speed limit?

I only started coming to this site recently, and SB's "fuel surge" thread was the first (and finest) thread i watched. I have to agree with BOB.T on the do gooders drivel, if they are really as well behaved as they make out, they should go and buy a Hyundia Atos!
Keep your suit zipped up SB, i'm just about to slip into mine!

Whilst we've opened the 'boy racing' can of worms how many people wouldn't play with something they knew was faster than them?
I've asked a few people this of late (you know who you are) who said they wouldn't floor it with another car if they thought the would lose?
I don't understand this!! To date my favourite 'race' (I use that word cause it's easiest) was in the VTS against the new M3 and it was also the most horrific loss I've ever had! Maybe its my mentality but I'd happily pit my car against a faster one and wouldn't feel bad about it. I just like to see superquick cars being driven every once in a while.
IMO the peeps that value winning are the dangrous ones as they have the 'winning is winning' (F&TF) mentality! I'm only interested in the difference, how quickly will my scooby pull away from a 172, how quickly will a 911 turbo pull away from my scooby, how close would I be with a standard EVO, etc.

my response to half the people on here is go buy a maestro and flat cap. Ffs youve bought an impreza, u telling me honestly that u all drive within the speed limit and dont ever tear away from the lights etc? if u do youve just wasted a hell of a lot of money on a shopping trolley with 280+ bhp

People that get caught flying down empty dualled roads aren't reading the road far enough ahead IMO! A guy standing with a bright jacket should be easy to spot if there is not other visual distractions (i.e. traffic). Of course there is now cameras that can do you from 1km away
Maybe we should all drive with binoculars on then

Personally speaking I do break the speed limit in 60's and 70's where I think it is safe to do so, and never more than 20 mph over. Its not that part that gets me about these threads, its the little boys that need to come on here and tell everyone else about it, expecting them all to tell them what a great big man they are.
Why dont you tell us how many pints you can drink at the same time, or what time you're allowed to stay up till on a school night?

SB, for once I gotta agree, Much more fun to be had having a tussle with a faster car (under the right conditions of course). It's a lot more fun than repeatedly proving that your car is quicker than a pimp tinted nova from the lights. (no offense to pimp tinted nova drivers intended )
I once had a minor engagement with an R33 skyline whilst in my 200sx. It was sickening but see him disappear up the road in front of me but well worth it just to see how the 2 accelerated in comparison. Now all i need to do is get a 600hp Supra and go find the guy for some payback
