What with the new Civic Type R coming out ( imagine THAT with a supercharger) and people broadly speaking, not happy with the new look of thw WRX what do you think will be the response?
Maybe even a price drop in 2002...?

Hi Andrew I have a new WRX and although I did prefer the look of the old car, the new one is growing on me. When you get behind the wheel you hardly notice the outside and just enjoy the drive. Unfortunately everything changes with time some of it we will like and some we won't - maybe subaru should get a vote from subaru owners before bringing out the next new car?

An urgent facelift - probably.

The STI has been a disaster in Japan, but that will mean very low mileage, low price second hand Stis coming here

The home market probably worries FHI more then here, although the recent win in NZ will help. The Jap market is extremely fickle.

I agree Trout. Im in Tokyo at the moment and you see EVO VII's everywhere but in the 3 months I have been here I have only seen a hand full of STI's.

Although the STI 7 or whatever its called looks pretty good in the flesh !!

Wink

Subaru have already put an old shape type spoiler on the back of the new sti to try and improve the looks. I fear however subaru will not respond to high prices and odd ball looks. Ive heard rumours that the new sti will push £30,000, which seems a lot to me considering the uk version will not have the full 280 bhp. To be honest though the front end needs to be sorted out big time, but i cant see subaru changing it for the forseable future, they would rather cut off their nose to spite its face, as they have shown with the whole banning working on imports saga.

From what ive seen of the new sti it does look very nice in all areas accept the front. But i fear this wont be changed for a more masculine look, nor the price lowered nor the lower performance levels raised to jap specs.

ps. £30,000 buys a new impreza P1!

I doubt anything will happen.

STi7 UK order cancelled and MY01 WRX goes tomorrow morning with little regret.

I will import next time and anticipate poor backup and probably get better than I have experienced with an official UK car.

New Shogun tomorrow and Westfield/Caterham in the New Year. Great.

I can't imagine any VTEC engine with a supercharger, one of the most unfriendly car engines available. Nothing below 5000 rpm then everything, but corresponding to 80mph, totally useless in normal road driving conditions.

No, a UK car.

I do about 35-40000 miles a year and have a highly recomended dealer 2 miles from home.

Had it yesterday morning, great

Uhm...

You must have driven a different car to my ITR and my S2000. Both were great fun in the real world and far from unfriendly.

They just were a different drive. That's why I've got an S2000 and a MY00 Turbo!
