My mate had one of these for his bike but it was only spring loaded so he could only flip it shut if the need arose.
This was a few years back and technology has moved on it seems, although the advantage of the spring was that it would close no matter what speed I was doing.

I wonder if the motor is strong enough to flip the plate closed if you were going at speed?

not that I've gone on track yet, but I'd save the cash and just swap to my track plates. Would love to run with them on the road, but think it might be a tad obvious who i am

Cool

so theoretically you could replace the switch with a radar/laser detector and... well no-one could detect your speed on the track where you would be using it

sorry to be thick but why do you need to conceal plates on track? I took mine off altogether in the summer at Donno to improve cooling to my grale intercooler and rad, but that s the only reason.

Bless you! A god-send for London - we have to remove plates or cover them these days as the a$$oles that want to get London moving have decided to ticket bikes parked on private property - you know the usual pavement skylights & other 'no hassle to the public' nooks and crannies!

Try really hard to imagine another situation where the ability to hide your rear plate at the touch of a button for a few seconds would be really helpful

Some people might want to take their plates off to protect their warranty. IM do say that if you take a car on track it will invalidate your warranty.
You never know who's watching.

I have no idea what you could be talking about.
