Cost per mile in an MY02
#1
We're changing my wifes car and not sure if we should go for a small hatch just big enough for her and the kids during the week or something bigger that we can all use at weekends/holidays in France.
I've got a 5-door MY02 and what I want to know is, once I've paid all the fixed costs (insurance, tax, loan etc.) what are the costs per additional mile I do - I'm working on the basis that a diesle Zafira/Multipla will cost me less to run than the Scoob. So, has anyone worked out what each additional mile costs in terms of petrol, servicin/tyres, additional deprication etc?
This may seem a little obsesive but if anyone has already done the calculation it could save me some time.

Mine is a MY99. Just change the miles per day and you'll see all additional running costs...

Riftzone,
Nice spreadsheet cheers.
It'd cost me about £600 per month to run a MY2003 with a £16k loan over 4 years with all running costs etc, needless to say I've changed my mind as I'd be better off with a cheaper car and paying extra on my mortgage according to the missus
Oh well, it's good to dream.
