Exhaust options for MY01????
#1
What exhaust options are there for the WRX MY01? Had a scoobysport on my previous MY99 but would prefer something a little less expensive. Also have posted earlier asking for Prodrive settings for MY01 surely someone must know????
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have just had the magnex 6x4 oval exhaust fitted to my MY01 and it has transformed my car completely. I can now stand in traffic queues and listen to the bub bub bub, then when we're off you get that orchestral flat four sound bellowing from the rear, music to my ears. This is aside from the obvious low/mid torque increase you get when the road opens up, which was the main reason for the purchase.
As for price, it was £325 inc. VAT and fitting, I think.

Does the cost you quoted also include the mid section as it seems expensive for just the backbox as it is widely available for £208 eg.

The magnex has only just become available this week, I've been chasing them since June when I knew they had taken in a new MY01 and done the measurements etc. It is a different length than the old model, and they only do a 'cat back system' (mid+back box) as a complete unit as I was told.

Sorry Keo,
I got the exhaust from Well Lane, in Batley, W.Yorks (01924 441364. I did ask C&F (Magnex) regarding the downpipe, but I got a negative reply from them in this area for now. I think there are some subtle differences in the MY01 from the downpipe back to the turbo which makes it more complex (techy's please confirm) than the older model.
As for measured performance gains, I was going to wait until 28/10/01 for the shootout at Well Lane, but from a feel point of view, much better between 2000-4500 revs for sure.
The car is transformed by the fact that you don't have to rev it high to gain the acceleration, it happens without trying too hard, and this feels brilliant.

Our 3" system is nearly ready, just completing some additional development work and it should be ready.
Initial test results gave:
238lb/ft @ 3950 rpm.
248BHP @ 5850 rpm.
Mike.
