Video set up
The house where the car is parked has got one of those PIR bleepers which we have set up
Without the HT lead it will never start

What a friggin Sunday morning
I was woken up by my neighbour at 8:30 asking whether I had seen my car
Well I subsequently found out that at 3:00am this morning My car was hit with enough force on the Drivers side to break the Passenger side front Wheel
My neighbour informed me that a vehicle was parked up round the corner with damage that could have been caused by the collision
I went over to investigate and sure enough reflector glass was identical and the wheel trim bits matched with bits left by my car
I came back to ring the police at 8:45 AND I AM STILL WAITING
The car has only just come back from the repair shop after being rear ended

That is sh*t M8.
Have the feds turned up yet?
I take it you've made a note of the number plate, just in case somebody decides to remove the other car. Or is it joy riders\stolen motor do you reckon?

Oh God ! Feel sorry for you dude.
As ChrisB suggested, get round quick with a (FILM!) camera and get pictures of the other car and yours.
Hope you get that sorted out quick, I feel your pain just from seeing the pics.

I'll put money on the fact that whoever was driving the other car was pissed. He/she dumped the motor and did a runner! I've seen it many times before.
It happened just outside my place one night and the two blokes made off. One of the soppy sods went down a dead end, so a few of us found him and "persuaded" him to return to the scene!
Hope the driver is traced, unfortunatly they'll be sober enough for the breath test by now?

Phil,
I'm really sorry to see that m8 Particularly after all the crap you'd had to deal with on the recent damage
Like the man said, make sure you have some pictures on a non-digital camera (as digital pictures are not accepted as evidence).
I would hassle the Police and tell them that due to the time and nature of damage, it is almost certainly a drunk driver, that you have a witness and request them to go round and breathalise the driver. Just sometimes they are keen to nick drunk drivers and the driver may still be over the limit! Make a fuss and make it clear if they don't attempt to catch the likely drunk driver, you will kick up a stink. Get the name of the officer you speak to and get the name of their boss and the name of the head of their Police force - make it clear you will *not* accept apathy in this case and will complain to the highest level if something is not done!!!!!!
Good luck m8,
Matt

Thanks Guy's
Just taken some real film pictures
Plod just turned up
The car is registered to a Lady in Ilford [30 miles away] and at the moment it is not reported stolen.
Police are going to get the car impounded for SOCO to have a look at it
Police reckon its either
1. D&D and abandoned to avoid prosecution
2. Stolen and not reported yet
3. Sold by regestered keeper and there for possibly 1.
Of to the body shop AGAIN
Phil

Also...... provided you don't put yourself or anyone else in undue danger,
Get some paint samples from your car (both paint colors - ie. your car and the offending car)
Get someone else to get paint samples from the other car.
This avoids cross-contamination issues.
however, if the other car's nicked, then this complicates things somewhat.

BuRR,
I am right in thinking that if a car is stolen and then damages someone else's propery (in this case Phil's), that 3rd party can then claim of the car owners insurance policy?
Hopefully, either way, Phil can claim off the owner/driver's insurance!!
Phil are they going to go and breathalise the owner?
Matt.

They are going to call on the owner to ascertain whether it was hers
I think personally it was joy riders from Ilford
the only thing is that they locked the car when they left it
##########STOP PRESS#############
Police have returned and have just gone in to one of the neighbours houses
Be back soon

FALSE ALARM
Any way a bit of "good news"
Police said it shouldn't be driven so I thought how am I going to get it to the garage
I don't let my insurance nominated garage touch it
Subaru Assistance I thought
Well what a very helpful bunch of people
"do you want us to come out to check whether its drivable sir or would you prefer just to have it recovered"
Just recovered please
"What time in the morning sir"
8.30
Thats fine sir we will see you then

I was just admiring your car the other day, when I was driving pass.....
Sorry to hear about the damage.. Just hope the police finds the culprit.... yet again you have all the hassle of getting things sorted with insurance company etc...

Would you bloody believe it
I am sitting watching West Ham and I see three youths pile out of a Sierra and start looking over the Rover that has been abandaned
Then one gets a key and opens it
At this stage I am discreetly legging towards them all 18.5stone of me
They spoted me and pile into the Sierra and of they go
E943 *** on a Gunmetal Sierra
Car is now unlocked and left accross a neighbours drive
The car stinks of booze
999 rung but they were long gone

you need some1 ready nearby to give chase. Don't think the police would like that though, just because they can't do their job doesn't mean others are allowed to!!
