Well I did the deed yesterday after a few major mods I complemented it with a Link Ecu.

I have run Superchips, bleed valve, got 25psi out of a UK car without going bang! But it did not feel like this ever.

You can just feel the "UP" in the bhp torque, and its smoother. Frankly I had 1 or 2 concerns at first, and thought lets take the bet is the Link really upto want I want out of my car.

The scoob pulls away very very well just need to adjust myself a little like driving a new more powerful car, you dont need so much weight on the pedal to make it fly...No problem there..

I started the scoob up this morning at around 8-30, started with one turn as my std jecs ecu would do..No problems there!!

Warm start NO PROBLEM!! the rev's would hunt a little then stabilized it's self in seconds...No problem there!!

More mile for my Optimax also!!:-)

Branko & Bob thanks for looking after me yesterday and fot the transplant well done.

Branko the quick shift is excellent!!! I am glad I bought one.

Regards

Moe

How much was it to have the link fitted?

Also what sort of increase in insurance for it?

Cheers

You need to contact BRD direct there are various options to choose from, depends which MY you have etc..I would budget from £695+

As for insurance I dont know your driving License, area age etc and you dont know mine.
In my case not much at all on the increase

Hi Shunty, yeah its wicked having a scoob as long as all the wheels turn when you drive and you have boost...

My fig' before were 280 lbs of T and 275bhp
at 20psi

Since than I have a fmic, ported header, up pipe, hybrid turbo, bigger injectors, SS & blitz zorst, waiting to put the water inject on and the Link I already have...I need to get it checked out for the fig's will post later

Top Cat,

Let me know when you go to PE, I can think of one UK car that might kick your ****!!!

I'd also like to echo Moe's thoughts on BRD, Bob was careful and thorough with my car! Bob gave up his Sunday off (and moved my appointment) to fit my car in for a Link, as I wanted some modifications to be carried out before hand!

Big thanks to Bob and Branko for their help and understanding over the past few months.

I have to agree about the quickshift!!

I am I happy? My face looked like this: all the way home!!

Thanks again
Andy

Just a quick note, to say WOW (again!!)!!!

I had to go home and pick something up, and the torque is now amazing!! I accelerated past things in 5th, with more more performance than before when I had to change down to 4th!!

As a side issue Moe, you may have WI coming, but I think when I get my injectors and headers done, no amount of water will help you out!!!

Also no increase in insurance!!! That's because I declared my PPP ECU and HKS boost controller, and with those removed and the Link in it's place, so no premium increase!!!

Cheers

As for insurance Andy I know I have told you this before against my std premium on a std Catalunya I am only paying an extra £120 pounds (3 tanks of SUL..almost);-)

Moe

PS...Andy don't push me to sign away (BRD)to 1.8bar;-) I dont mind splashing out on a new engine just to wipe the smile of your face;-)

I take it the gains from a Link ECU are much greater than a PPP ECU?? as I cant decide between a Link or PPP even though I do have 2 years warranty left I need more power.

Jake, personnal choice would be to go link, but this will viod the warranty. The link will give better gains, because it is mapped to YOUR car, not a general map from Prodrive (using an STi ecu).

Dan - Happy link user.

Question

Does anybody know what the expected gains would be on a MY00 UK Turbo (24k miles)running a full Scoobysport Exhaust, as this is something I have been looking into doing on my car for a while now.

I am in the same situation as Jake where I obviously have 2 years of warranty left, but need more power.

Moe,

I'm willing to look like a mug, if you're willing to blow up your engine! It seems like a fair echange!!!

Andy

PS - I thought you were sorting out the PE thing!!! Nito can't do weekends, only during the week, but that's a problem for me!! Oh well!

nice to see quality NZ products being supported.

had my WRX 'linked' 3 weeks ago and am well pleased - definitely improved the surge factor (if I get the acceleration and revs just right the car rockets off, no bother)

Hey TC...Geezer, welcome to the fold...
You do realise that mine formed the basis for the mapping you now have excl. FMIC!!!
Bob and Steve is all you need...
BRDevelopments+Surrey Performance what a beautiful combination.
I think all of us Chaps with Links should meet up and compare lengths. I believe the Dyno day would be best but I about to become a Father any week now.
How about a Sunday meet somewhere soon?
If not, perhaps later after my son/daughter has arrived...

P.S. Have you seen any Samco hoses laying around..

Hi Jacko,

Yep I think a meet will be a great idea...what should be call it The Link Meet???

Na no pipes laying around, not yet anyway.
I have been hitting just under 1.6 bar and everything is reading as 1.2 bar i.e. fuel, oil temps etc. I am hearing 1 or 2 things about the accuracy of the Defi gauges...I know mine are right as I have compared them to PE gauge, and Auto meter. Ok lets even say they are out by .1 of a bar I am still peaking over 1.5bar!!!

The car goes like stink!

Looking forward to the retune to see if we can better things and make sure my clutch is at the right adjustment and new.

Hi Shunty,

That torque Fig was running a std TMIC, TDO4 turbo and 380 injectors running at 20 psi

So I think well I belive from the way the car is pulling its well over 300+ of Torque

As for Brakes I have AP's (Thank God!!!)
