Just a thread so that people can keep us all up to date with all the STI PPP gossip.

My local dealer mentioned today, that apart from not being able to offer a fixed date when they will start to get them(A common theme across dealerships it seems) there has been a massive take up on it.

Something like 500 people are now in the queue, and they mentioned that out of the 15 or so STI Type UK's they sold only 1 has not put their name down for the STI PPP.

Again, the main factor in any delays is the speedy return of ECU's from the dealer to Prodrive.

It seems a few people are in for a long wait.

Its ****e!
First impressions of the car after going a little faster today are........
A VERY impressive ammount of grip in the wet.
Almost scarey!
Shame the boost guage is a little sleepy tho eh Ian.
And the rear suspension knocking!
Never mind pass it onto the local guy eh

Now you've done it Neil Cue a fifty page thread after Arron says "I think it's better" from a load of P1 owners who disagree......

Matt

P.S. As yet undecided on the PPP (vs "other" options) but also have to finish saving for Nicola's new car 1st....

From the sounds of it, finding an UN-PPP'd STI will be a rarity, and hence help resale values.

If there are really 500 prospective punters in the list then maybe they should have a few extra pool CPUs to speed up the delivery?

When I spoke to Lucas in Mansfield about one a couple of weeks before the official release they didn't have a clue that it even existed!

I've got one on order and been told that it should come before Crimbo but not really expecting it too appear this year.

Had my PPP on order from July. My dealer says he expects it in Nov.

By the way, can anyone tell me how to find the threads that described the PPP from the guys who had the first ones fitted.

I have tried searching under "PPP" and lots of different conotations but can't pin them down.

Thanks,
Steve.

RichB. They started with about 40 spare ECU's. If Subaru/IM/prodrive bought more ECU's then what do they do with them when all the PPP's have been sold? They'd be faced with a large backlog of expensive items that would take a long time to sell.

Ordered mine 2 weeks ago and have been told 17 weeks delivery!!
So much for the experts predicting no delays as we had on the MY01 PPP.

..... and the word from my Dealer is 30 ECUs in the recycling pool and a take-up of 1/3 of the number of STis he sold. In a way, the large number ordering - if that info is right - is a bit of an indictment on the basic car: I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting PPP as much for improved flexibility/driveability as for sheer performance 'edge'.

On the other hand, a high take up could merely represent the fact that it's an enthusiast's car in the first place.....??? I dunno!

Long supply delays ain't going to go down well on top of the wait for development..... I'm more sympathetic towards the latter than the former.
