Looking to purchase an Mx5 - as second car I hasten to add.
One I've got my eye on is an import. Speedo has been changed to MPH, radio has not been done yet.
Car is an absolute cracker with leather, nardi wheel, gearstick & handbrake to match.
Advice needed on what else to look out for and check on as the car is an import.
Cheers

Mazda mx5 oweners club had some good pages nad some good links with buying tips etc.
I ran one for six months earlier in the year as a second car.
One thing to make check is the leccy windows, dont believe anyone that says its just slow/sticking due to lack of use, its a plastic runner and about £200 a side to fix if they dont go all the way down.
Also the dashboard fronts are VERY prone to snapping and cracking and are £100 a throw.

Would recommend one as a first car, never mind second. I sold my MY2001 for a late imported 1.8S 6 speeder, and have never regretted it once..
Could fill a page with reasons why I prefer it to a WRX.

"You wanna cut down on the Porklife mate - get some exercise!"
Hmmm - Good point tho - thats why i didn't buy the UK car - need the big horsepower to maintain the performance!
Half of 'em in the mag article are bloody anorexic!

Good choice for a second car, by the way.

not always true, my imports cost the same as UK cars to insure. Like anything shop around for a good deal.
