My ears pricked up a little too late, anyone know what it was?

Mentioned during the German Motorshow part of the program, 1100 BHP and 4 turbo chargers!

That was the new Bugatti.

They said it was a V16 though, and I think you'll find it's a W16.

Bugatti Veyron is its full name.

Why 1001bhp? Sounds ridiculous! Why not 997 or something? Doubt they can measure it to +/- 0.1% anyway.

Nice paintwork on the show car though.

The head of Volkswagen (who I think now own Bugatti) wanted to ensure that the car could accurately claim to have 1000 bhp, so they made sure that the engine's final output was just over 1000 bhp to counter any such arguments.

Apparently that output is at low boost levels.

The car is reputed to be able to put out 1400bhp when boost is upped, and still be reliable.

I wonder if they will stick with the standard two pot brakes?

Still, I sure a Macca F1 would beat it round most tracks as it is 350+ kilos lighter. Typical of Volksfaggen to make the car 1500kg's. Still, 0-186 mph in 14 seconds!!!
