My pride and joy MY96WRX is a victim of the F****** wind at the week end.
Having had a nice drive up the M25 towards dartford tunnel following a very nice blue 5 door.I left the motorway on the A13 and a huge advertising hoarding came from nowere it luckily hit the front of my car and not the windscreen. The damage is bumper headlights, grill, bonnet,Wing, front slam panel and radiator.
I am fully comp, but does anyone know if this is likely to take longer than a normal repair due to it being an import.I will put a picture up shortly.

Find out who owned the hoarding if you have not already done so as they "I Believe" may be responsible, check with your Insurance company to be certain, they should be able to advise you, this may help salvage your no claims

Yeah find out who owns the hoarding,ie More O,ferral,Maiden etc.

If I remember correctly that bloke from ALLO,ALLO was hit by an advertising hoarding, nearly killed him,but he sued them for a fortune.

Hope you get sorted soon.

Sorry to hear about your recent bad luck. Check with your insurance that your clame has been designated as a "no-fault, no-blame claim". If this is the case then your clause attached to your protected no claims wont be affected. If it is classed as just a no-fault claim then it may have affected your clause. The clause usually reads, no more than 3 claims in 3 years for example. I found this out recently when my renewal came through and I queried the size of increase. My policy is protected no claims also.

Exclamation

You taking action against who owns the hoarding is unnecessary if you are insured fully comp. If you give a full account of the incident to your insurer, if your insurer feels they have a claim against the person/object that *allegedly* (they have to prove liability) caused the damage they will automatically subrogate against them to attempt to recover the cost. It isn't your problem.

The insurance industry has been doing this for hundreds of years

David
My insurance company are claiming against the company responsible for the advertising board,as normal practise.however i am also claiming against them for the depretiation in my cars re-sale value,As it will never look like it did.to my knowledge it had never had any paint work in its life.
The company concerned have said they accept liability.
