I currently own a (my02) sti7 type UK in mica WR blue.

Mileage 1400 !
Age 7 weeks.

Stone chips dozens !!!!

Very, very small front doors just above the skirt.

Any suggestions.

Mudflaps? If so any ideas?

Dealers has said. Tough.

Anyone used "CHIPS AWAY"

Thanks

I have the standard mudflaps on my MY99 and it stops those chips on the side panels - won't help with the ever increasing number of chips and dings I am collecting on the front. I use a coloured resin polish to reduce their effect before using the high gloss top coat (am I sad or what - the whole process takes hours). Not used chips away or anyone similar, but friends that have seem pleased with the results... Pulleyns of York are very helpful at making up matchpots if you need one!

Hi pbt i have just brought a MYOO in dark blue mica about 6 weeks ago the dealer had sorted all the stone chips before i picked itup and now when i wash it i find more and more stone chips each time (this afternoon being the latest). If this carries on me motor will be stone chip colour. I have seen some smart looking mud flap type things that fit on the ends of the side sills and look like part of the sill, but i can't seem to find where i saw them i'll keep looking not sure if these are the same for bug eye version though

Pbt

I have an STI7 and after a couple of hundred miles (people passing me on the road during the run in period) the signs were there that stonechips were going to be a problem.

I have fitted the P1 mini mudflaps to the front (about £9 the pair - try searching the technical forum for passed articles on part number and fitting instructions) and Armourfend paint protection for the front wings, bonnet and spoiler (about £250 fitted).

Since then I have a 6 months without a stonechip (touch wood). Well worth it and a must for the STI7's. Either that or the paint "hardens" over time?

Two companies: ChipsAway to sort out your existing stone chips
Armourfend to make sure they don't return

I have used both so the front end of my MY00 is still like new

Sorry RobertF you've already mentioned Armourfend

pbt,
you can get some 'mini mud flaps' from Robinson's of Rochdale, 01706-716655. I rang them on Saturday and ordered some, think they were £11.00 something.
What I thought was mud splattered on my sill (behind front wheel) turned out to be tiny stone chips!

cheers alan

You want to use Timo!!! He's on this board WRX STi V4 Type R and he's a mobile paint repair, chips away type bloke, he'd sort you out with a good deal being a fellow scoob owner and he is sh*t hot at what he does. He's based in Hull but comes up to York and Leeds often 07787538524, give him a buzz.

I think the mini-mud flaps supplied by Robinsons
are 'MRT' specials
However I have a part number SACC2145 I wrote down ages ago - could be for the P1 mini flaps ?? (aka - stoneguards)
