Wooo hooo!!!

1st Opportunity to test the new setup against good opposition.

Setoff from traffic lights behind S3 onto slip road, i pulled out to signal my intention to overtake. The S3 booted it and started to pull away. Oh dear!!

3rd gear and 3600rpm and all hell breaks loose, reeled it back in easy, passed it and changed to 4th, still pulling away strong.

Got to 120 in no time, lifted off and slowly went back down to cruising speed. Then the Audi shoots past, just to prove a point.

Well chuffed, cause i thought he had me when i was in 3rd, untill the turbo kicked in

oh and

I was in my mates modified S3 yesterday (300lbs / 280 bhp) & we had a Mini Cooper S behind us.
We went from 60-120+ & the mini was right there !!!!

Another encounter we had was with a UK 5 door Turbo Scooby which he thought he would crucify but only managed to crawl past well into 3 figures.

Goes to show that you need LOADS more power to REALLy waste someone.

My mate was gutted (he thinks his S3 would eat my STi) - esp when I pointed out that my Sti has another 60bhp as standard !!

RoShambo - the mini cooper s must have been modified surely, if your mates car had the power figures you are quoting (mind you, how heavy is the S3 ?)
I comfortably pulled away from a cooper s last week, mines putting out similar power figures to your mates S3.

ps - the cooper s last week, ther guy was a right ***, watched him from a few car legths behind, he sat on everyones bumper (literally), for about a mile, stupidly overtaking with dangerous manouveres......so he just HAD to be shown, when we got a clear stretch of road & I caught him up of course.

Yup - our thinking was the Cooper was modded.
My mates S3 has all the print outs / graphs etc that show those figures & is very quick - but the cooper just stayed on his rear bumper. This guy was driving like a loon too. Cant remember the colour but it had white wheels & stripes down the bonnet.
& I guess the supercharged engine is easy to mod

Standard S3 will only stay with standard UK Turbo. Any more and it will loose. You should be weary of chipped S3's as they are simply a different car in terms of performance. They will beat a standard Sti 7 due to the big mid range.

They weigh about 1375 kg, so about the same as MY01-02 Scoobs. Bit lardy but I'm happy with mine. Need a chip though!

so the S3 is a 100kg's heavier than a classic, so that's like having me sat in the passenger seat with me pockets full of loose change then
