To all the people who died, are injured and their families and friends affected by the atrocities. My deepest condolences to them, my heart goes out to them.
What kind of a world are we living in today?
This is deeply saddening news to know that so many innocent lives have been lost in the name of whatever these terrorists believe in.
It is hard to understand their motivation and actions, I am shocked.
This is a very dark day for the world as we know it. I can only hope that this does not resort to war.
Michelle.

Well said Michelle.
As we have seen the events unfold this afternoon we can hardly imagine the scale of this tragedy.
I am sure there are many many lives lost and our thoughts should be with those poeple and their families.
Those of you who have collegues & friends who could have been caught up in this nightmare have my deepest sympathy and hope that the news is better than we all expect.

Just absolutely unbelievable - you have to pinch yourself to see if it's all one big dream ...
Let's prey that all the figures they keep quoting about the numbers of folks thet "could" have lost their lives are greatly exgagerated ... else this is the worst day in modern history .... for the whole world .....
A very sad day .....

Early reports said "at least 6 people killed" -- I wouldn't be surprised if they're out by a factor of at least 10,000. Aside from the people inside the buildings, imagine a building bigger than Canary Wharf falling down in the middle of London in an uncontrolled explosion

Absolutely.
What a shocking waste. I'm amazed it could ever have happened, these people must have had some serious weaponry. How can... not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 armed people could have slipped through customs?!

Just been sitting quietly at the bedside of my 4year old son sleeping peacefully with his arm wrapped round his teddy and his blonde hair curled over his face.
I wonder what words I have, as a Mother,to explain to him the sort of world that he will be destined to live in.
I had hoped not to see the scenes witnessed today in my lifetime. I have, and like everyone else, I'm saddened by that fact.

Bit of a coincidence - I was watching some Amercian movie very recently thinking how far removed most films are from real life to make them 'entertaining' and how things from movies so rarely happen in real life; then this happens. The pictures on the news looked like something from a (possibly far-fetched) movie. It is simply shocking.
The effects of this will be profound and very long lasting.
Not sure what else to say.

Cant add anymore.
I shed a tear when I heard the story of the news reporter who was on the phone to her husband while on the plane asking what she should do.
A sad sad day, and its not the end.
May the dead rest in peace.

A totally horiffic act of barbarism.
My sister works in a bank in Manhattan and we had a terrifying two hours before she phoned to say she was OK.
My heart goes out to everyone involved.
