Well, I picked up my first ever Impreza last Saturday and it is everything I expected.
But, the 4000rev limit till 1000 miles is killing me!
Anyone else get a new Scoob and how are you coping?

PS. I'm flashing and waving at every other Scoob I see, so if you see a grinning fool in West Cumbria...it's me!

Had a puma before hand but sold it in May. Been driving around in the girlfriends Punto in between. It's a real pleasure to have a "proper" car back.
Been at work most of the weekend, otherwise the mileage would be a lot higher!!

My 1,000 miles took 6 days last year, like you I was working all week. Being at the Skye bridge at 1am trying to put the miles on before it's 1,000 mile service later the same morning was entertaining

Actually it's until the 1st service not 1000 miles. So until you get your 1st service done keep to 4000 revs
Ask John felstead how he ran in his scoob. If memory serves he did it in a day
Just take it easy, and follow the manual. Soon you'll be flying

well er.....I'm now at 872 in my UK300 PPP and the manual said...NEVER 4krpm except in an emergency...
Problem is I've had about 15 emergencies....most of them involving motorbikes and thrashing....
I've never redlined it though....probably 5k tops.
My scooby dealer said its ok..just dont go silly because of the thin oil they use until the first service.....
The car sure is getting faster....and the exhaust tone is already changing....its booming and getting louder!

Had my first service about a month ago. I swear the car felt so much quicker straight after the service and it's not just because you can take it over 4000revs.
Before the service when I'd done about 900 miles I thought I'd just take it up to 5000 revs just to see how it goes. But it seemed to take ages in third gear to get there. Straight after the service I done the same and the thing flew. Where as before you could feel the surge coming at around 3500. After the service you still got the surge at 3500 but then another at about 5000. I've done 2100 miles now still haven't redlined it though.
