"There is no excuse" - Rolling Road Day
#1
OK everyone, stealing the idea from Jonathan (Chins) - we have heard..."I could have been a contender except for
- charge temp
- my gearbox bearings are breaking down
- downpipe
- fuel
- remapping, I haven't quite finished yet
- tyres
- injectors, these one aren't big enough/they're too big and I'm losing it
- this chip, if only I had a MoTEC/Link/Pectel/Superchip/PPP/Apexi/Autronic"
etc, etc.
Anyway - come November, you have plenty of warning and There is No Excuse at the next Rolling Road day (hopefully at PE).
Please post if you are up for this and I will get arranging (hopefully with support from Chins and Dr Evil your southern co-ordinator).
Also let me know which Saturday is best, although we may lack flexibility.
Following Jonathan's advice there will be prizes for the best Import and the best UK (P1s count in the import category - so Stirrer Bob could well win!) - if we get enough support we can have best standard v. best modded in each category.
Judges arbitration will be final and no debate will be entered into.
Cheers,
Trout

Who are the judges and, more importantly, are they open to bribery?

I'm sure depending on dates, and state of modifications, Moe (TopCat), Nito and Danny Fisher will be there!!
Bugger, there goes my chances of winning the modified UK catergory!!
Andy
PS - I might be busy on the 24th November.

I would like to use it as a diagnostic to see why I am down on boost and power.
I have a problem with hesitation and surging when cold, it is VERY noticeable, it feels like it has just run out of petrol. Started a couple of days ago
So, put my name down, and depending on date I may be able to attend.

Only if they have bacon and sausage rolls. I have well over 100 miles to travel to get there and by the time I do get there I’m starving. The greasy spoon just down the road from PE was not open and I had the boy nagging me for a steak. (Just like his old man)
Saying that I did have a great day and really enjoyed myself, even if it did cost me another £20 in burgers on the way home, bloody services.

Bob,
you have just given me an idea as to what the prize could be - a £20 Big Mac voucher!
Joking aside I will see what we can do in terms of bacon butties - perhaps the SIDC may like to sponsor the event.

interesting
even i can be tempted to travel down for this, it will be good to compare the figure between RRs . i think my UK car should do really well on the PE rollers
how about making it coincide with another event, ie track day the day before, BBQ, PARTY etc... just to make my 500miles trip really worth it.

I'll get the day booked and co-ordinate the cars. It would be nice to see our own club magazine feature it, but we would need to blank number plates and use owners first name if they were protecting their warranty.
We will get 30 cars max in the day if we start first thing and warn Merv to finish late.
A few prizes would be nice. It would be nice if SIDC donated some money towards them, or we could charge lets say £32/run rather than £30.
We will need to be a bit strict with entries due to the limited car numbers.
We will also need a couple of bog std cars to set a benchmark for the day.
Category wise some suggestions accepted.
Most Powerfull UK car - bhp
Most Powerfull UK car - lbft
Most Powerfull Import - bhp
Most Powerfull Import - lbft
Most Powerfull new shape ?
Should 22B's be in the UK category as they dont seem capable of outpowering UK cars let alone Imports
Priority given to cars that have supported the dyno days before ?

I would like to reserve at least one place for a special motor and I must assume that Bob R will be there - so we need a slot reserved for him.
Must have at least 20 cars by know - or does Andy Tang simply want to run six times
