Been driving round for a day with eGuard tracker activated but no response.

not good this, as Puff says, check the insurance docs. Mine requires a tracker, hence getting one (cheers Puff)

Assume this is just e-guard and NavTrak is OK?

This is not good at all, you assume that your car is protected by e-guard and they it's not. is there no info on their website?

Markus. All contact phone numbers ring and ring even the theft hotline. Directors are all unobtainable. Website unchanged. No record of correspondance to customers.

Seems like you can wait and risk it or just get another tracker fitted. Pisser.

Might be an idea to stop DDs as well. All those funds will be going to pay creditors - not you guys.

IMHO it would be reasonable to claim that as there currently is no service, why should you pay for it.

Question/theory

If they've gone into liquidation etc, one of their larger creditors may be the phone network whose service they use (for the GSM part). It might be that that phone network may've pulled the plug too Work trying to find out about peeps...

Markus

Navtrak is unaffected by this.

Be careful with stopping DD's .. remember Independant Insurance via Premier Credit, if you stopped the DD, you risked being taken to court if you refused to pay.. fortunately in that case, PC agreed all customers could stop the DDs.

Alex is right about DDs, somone like PCL might pop up and try and screw you, luckly PCL rolled over, and theorecticall if they tried it again, I guess you could get some kind of legal action going, which I think might have happened if PCL had not dropped things.

Just spoke to Priviliege, who gave me Simba Security's number. They say "We're staring to wonder what's going on!"

Priviliege have said, until there's an official release, they will honour claims.

The guy at Simba S says it's distinctly possible that the service will be taken on by someone else.

If you want more info from Simba, 0870 607 0895

Liquidised on 24th Aug and just arrived in court as the Insolvencies Service and Companies House (offical government bodies) have no records yet.

Could take months. Doesn't look good.

Question

How many drivers out there are still unaware that their tracker doesn't work?

I still have had no contact from Telematix in any way or form.

Stu looks as though your bankers draft is going to be heading North (Buggerthat would helped in the Skyline fund!).

Check the validity of your insurance those that have these devices - it might be a requirement to have a tracking device

Is it not better to claim no knowledge. It hasn't been officially announced to the customers. How would your average punter know. I can see your point though Puff.

2 months minimum until eGuard hardware re-activation if at all.

Cut losses and get another tracker
