Question

I'm struggling to find any octane boosters sold locally (in motorbike shops etc) but I have found Rockoil boost at £6 for 800ml. Has anybody else found this to be a good product?

Thumbs up

I've used since last summer and found it to be excellent. A lot smoother. Using it at 2 cans per tank approx. 3% Jack

Just been in Gordon Farley Motorbikes in Ash Hampshire - he has loads and does me 6 litres of Silkolene Pro Boost for £40. Just bought a new load today.

I use 1 can a tank for everyday driving 2% and get a little bit of knock if I hammer it over 7000rpm. I use 1.5 cans for Santa Pod etc.

Cheers,

David

I've been using Proboost in my Sti3 until yesterday. I found out from a reliable source that proboost causes the engine to run too hot, and can damage no.3 piston/cylinder. He recommeded Millers VSL which doesn't cause this problem. One of his cars is a 600BHP 930 Turbo, which he's run at 218mph at Santa Pod last year - he seemed pretty knowledgable on the subject, he said that he had carried out extensive tests on various octane boosters and Millers proved the best, - cooler angine and more BHP. The standard dose gives 3 octane ie. with SUL that would give 100 octane, compatible with JAP SUL that WRX's and STI's are designed to run on.

Cheers, hope this helps

BTW. The Escort and Rally Spares Centre in Macclesfield (South Manchester)sell it, mail order too.
