Question

Was reading the press release from Fuji Heavy Industries and it says:

"Fuji Heavy Industries, Ltd. (FHI), a global manufacturer of transportation and aerospace-related products and the maker of Subaru automobiles, announced the debut of the 2003 model year Impreza for the European market at the Paris Motor Show 2002"

Does this mean that the new MY03 will only be available in Europe?

Better not just be in Europe..... Doesn't sound even remotely correct though, would be a very stupid move by the boys at Fuji. It will prob just mean that it is the European specs or sumthin ??

I think they just mean the debut of MY03 for the European market, i.e. the Euro market launch of the MY03.
It wouldn't make sense for FHI to make 2 different front ends for the same car.

Yes, this is probably the case but still a strange wording as this was the world debut.

the USA market use a diferent year model reference. Our MY02 is their MY03, so when the blobeye is launched in the USA, it will be as an MY04. Dont ask me why? But thats the way it is.

The Oz spec STi has the same power output as the Euro spec, as both cars are to 'export spec' (i.e. not JDM spec).
The car may have a very low pricing in terms of UK standards, but to the locals the car is not so cheap. The general cost of living in Oz is lower than UK, but so are their wages.
It's interesting to note the Legacy B4 is available there, but the engine is vastly detuned - 240bhp for the auto & 258bhp for the manual.
