Snooper?
#2
Does the "Snooper" actually work?
Has any one got one, or have any info on them because the way things are going, especially reading some of the negative posts on the Tour o Derbyshire thread Im begining to think about getting one!
I would never USE it in the car though....... Thats Illegal
Any one reckon it could give us 1 up on the Fun Police?

Snoopers are without a doubt, not very good at all. There have been a number of threads this year and the vast majority of people recommend the Bel models, as highlighted by greeny. I also have a Bel, albeit a slightly older model and it is superb.

I have a 5 year old snooper, and just replaced it with a Bell 550. Much more accurate. One interesting point is Snoopers used to be made by Bell!. Not sure if this is still true. This was confirmed by taking the snooper apart and seeing Bell stamped on the circuit board. Also the Bell sticker on top of the unit is replaced with SEL.... on the snooper.

I've just replaced my snooper with a BEL 550, mine was a 6060i (top of the range when I had it) I have no complaints at all with it other than you can't de-select a frequency.
They were made by the same people - I claimed under warranty for a new one and it came in a BEL box!
It has genuinely saved me at least 6 times

I've got a 715s. Saved my clean license a few times on roads I don't know too well. It doesn't give a zillions miles warning but on most roads with speed cameras you *should* be expecting them. It definitely gives me enough warning.
It is legal. And it is also a whole wad cheaper than some of the more sensitive ones. I reckon it's just about paid for itself since I got it in March.
