When is the engine at its best??
#1
Folks
Just wondering when an engine is at its peak performance in terms of mileage....
Someone told me once that a Golf GTI was best after 75K miles.
What about Scoobies?
Also does the engine lose bhp after a certain number of miles?
Cheers

Why the question? Are you hoping that your car will get better or perhaps it is getting worse? Maybe your thinking of buying and need to know what to expect?
It would certainly depend on how the car is driven and how it was maintained etc. I don't recollect anyone with a 'rule of thumb' for this. All I can say is that with semi-careful driving the scooby engine goes well for approx.100K.

Jason,
Are you running the beast on SUL ?
When the performance of my one dropped off a bit I took it to ScoobySport and asked Pete to run it through a select monitor. The car had retarded it's ignition significantly as a batch of fuel I had put in was techically described as "crap" Once Pete had used the select monitor to reset the ECU it flew again
If you feel it is not performing up to scratch try your local dealer for the same treatment, it should be free
