What do you mean 'what do I do to get out of it?' Surely this is coming of escort man's insurance??

Talking

Ian - Yes Lexus Lights gone

Saxo Boy I was being ironic - yes of course the escort man will pay but through the Audi man

Ironic really the escort was probably worth less than a New Prodrive back box !

Still been given the all clear at the hospital so its only metal [said through gritted teeth]

same sort of thing happened to Rich in his old car. Make sure your lower spine is ok, as his isn't nearly 5 years on and still gets bad back pain

Glad you are ok. I claimed for whiplash when someone ran into the back of me a couple of years ago. Got 2k. Going rate must be more now!! Go to your G.P. Ask for pain killers and tell the insurance co you have whiplash (doc will prob diagnose it anyway. Eventually, you have to go and see a doctor nominated by the other persons insurance company but it's worth the wait when you finally get that cheque in your hand!!

red dog

Sentiments fine but that attitude is excatly why our premiums are going through the roof

And genuine people are always treated with suspicion

Doctor said I'm fine

Phil,

Totally gutted mate. As Anna says, I was in my old Primera on the M25 in stop-start traffic. I stopped about 1 to 2 car lengths behind the guy in front of me and the BMW 525 behind me left a massive gap. I thought no more of it until he piled into the back of me, shortening my car by about a foot.

The other plus side was that he was insured with the company I worked for at the time so the claim went through rather rapidly

Fingers crossed that yours does too and that your back is ok.

Phil - best of luck with the claim. Admire you for not taking the pi55 on unnecessary whiplash claim. As you say, we all pay enough as it is. Having said that, it can take a day or 2 for any pain or stiffness to appear.

Phil

Agree with other advice. Whiplash doesn't necessarilly manifest itself straight away Even though your spine/neck appears straight on an x-ray, it may be damaged. What happens is that your body compensates slightly for the injury which leads to muscle and bone pain elsewhere after a period of time. Don't forget that your head weighs a lot and you are using muscle to keep it upright all the time.

My neck & shoulder are in pain as I write this - combination of whiplash 17 yrs ago & shoulder injury when knocked off my bike. Its uncomfortable to sleep and not particularly pleasant. I claimed in the bike case but 5 years on, with it still aching, the money I got in compensation was not enough to compensate for the continual pain now (Shoulder exacerbates neck as I try to hold shoulder less painfully ). It is up to you if you claim or not, but if nothing else make sure that you see a chiropractor or simillar if in any doubt & get them to put it right. A claim will cover these costs (as they'll likely be non-NHS) & if you don't want any extra for the "pain & suffering" aspect - so be it.
