Need some advice...

Got my New MY00 from Adams last year, however have had problems with the electric windows, esp the passenger side. At first both windows were smearing (some type of black rubber) at the front of both windows (close to the wing mirrors). Had it looked at by Lavender Hill who cleaned the runners and adjusted them.

I have know discovered that the passenger side window has got two deep scratches going along the window. And the window seams to judder while going down.

What would be my options.

1. Call Adams and request a Warranty claim and have the passenger window replaced.

2. Contact Lavender Hill (a lot closer) and do the same - will they be able to do the work or would i have to go back to Adams?

I have never made a claim against the warranty and don't know if this is covered (my car is over 1 year old). Please advise.

Thanks in advance

I would do 2.

It is easier for you, any dealer can carry out warranty work and by having adjusted it for you once Lavender hill have already accepted that there is a problem and so should not give you the run around.

This is a common problem by the way that effects nearly all of that age Imprezas.

Just to clarify: I think you should be able to get new window glass under warranty - I am pretty sure I have heard of this before on here

Darms,

You defenatley should be able to get them replaced on warranty.
I had same problem with drivers window and got it replaced under warranty at subaru dealer. And my warranty had only one month left to run!!

It is a known problem. Mine is UK MY99.

Hope this helps

Will try and get it sorted at its next service (approx months time)

Once its done, I think a trip to Pentagon Auto-Tint is in order.

Thanks once again....

Darms, I had this on my MY99.

The black stuff is the window seal. There is a bit of the seal that sits behind the mirrors - it comes loose and degrades, thus smearing the window - its not the runners.

As for the scratches - its the guides/door frames loosening off.

If the bolts get too loose and cannot be fixed, its a new door

either way its a warranty claim
