Hi Peeps

I am well unhappy as my 300bhp ver5 sti has just been well and truly beaten fair and square by a Toyota Supra.

It was a mean looking black tt driving around st albans and london colney along the dual carrageway.

It left me for dust and i could not keep up i was going round corners at 140mph and it was pulling away.

Hello mate, that was me!!!

I was pretty shocked as to how well you kept up to be fair, I sort of guessed you couldn't have been running stock power, and I think I took you by supprise on the first roundabout (M10).?

I couldn't really rag it round the corners as my rear tyres are shot to bits and have about 4mm tread left, so it slides quite a bit.!!!

If you see me, give me a wave, I've loads of respect for scoobys, and a mate of mine just brought a Terzo too.

At at guess I'd say about 350. My spec is as follows....

Stage 3 Hybrid turbo's
HKS Front mount Intercooler
Blitz NUR spec R Exhaust (Full system)
Both cats removed
Blitz blow-off-valve
Race Logic Traction Control
Fuel cut defenser
Speed limiter removed.

I'm only currently running 0.8 bar as I have the stock fueling in place. But once I've changed the pump, injectors and put a pressure regulator in place I can up the boost to around 1.3bar, which will hopefully give me over 400.

MB - Its a 95 N reg, jap import.

I quite happy although the only reason I have the hybrids fitted is because I blew #2 turbo less than a week after buying it. But since then (touch wood) its been fine. There isn't alot that will come close on the road, but its a right laugh to drive! (and expensive!)

The tone of this thread is so encouraging after the recent spate of "my brand X car is better than your Scooby so **** off (and vice versa)!".

I too would think a little before pushing a Supra to the limits on the straights. Might have a bit more chance on the wet twisties. Amazing cars.

TT, nice to hear from you, glad you enjoy your car. Jimi, thanks for your honesty but take it on the chin & move on else it will cost you dear in mods!

Respect to both of you.

I just hope we can keep this type of atmosphere going on this BBS. Totally bored and absolutely sick to death of the childish rantings on here re brand X/ brand Y car. There has got to be more Ferrari slayers on here than anywhere else on the planet!

If it goes and you are proud of it then that's all that matters.

Cheers guys for showing the way forward. Keep on motoring.

I am absolutely gob smacked!

I filled up with petrol at the shell filling station at chiswell green just off the m25,as i was getting in my car i heard this black beast go past at a normal speed 40 -50 say.

Right i must see if i can catch him up.The first roundabout i cought up and kept my distance, the second roundabout he floored it and i was off guard so i lost a lot of ground.

That supra blew me away but we both had to be carefull as there was loads of lorries on the roads so we had to hit the brakes hard at some points.

Hey Barry thanks a lot for the blatt it was nice to go out with a fellow petrol head.

Jimi

Isn't the BBS great, you come on here for a bit of sympathy and you only run into the guy who just betten you!!

Never mind, once T.T has spilled the spec on his Supra, you know how many 100's of bhp your short

I think there's a leson to be learnt here, Scooby's aren't invincible, The Scooby's one of the hardest car's to get real power out of! Ask a Jap Street racer! I've seen 500bhp Honda Civics for gauds sake, Just lucky it's not over here.

P.S. must speed up my typing

Jimi, No problem mate. My poor brakes! I still have the small jap disk's on with full race pads, so they heat up pretty quick under heavy braking!

I dont like seeing post from other car owners slaggin off another persons pride and joy. We all drive jap performance cars, whatever the make & model. I spent ages looking over the scoobys at Billing a few month back, some very nice motors.

Just out of interest Jimi, what spec is your car at to make 300 ponies?

The difference between TT's post and other posts is that TT has respect for other cars, other owners then think that because they beat a scoob their car is superior so we get hacked off by that, TT on the other hand seems a very genuine person unlike others who have posted on here, this is the sort of person we encourage even though they are not a subaru owner they are actually an enthusiast and not a "my car will kick the *** of your car" in the first few posts.
TT, sounds like a great car mate keep on tuning

I should just point out that when i say other cars thinking that they are superior to subarus i actually mean sheds that people think are worth owning (and not a decent Marque like a Toyota )

Jim - you need to learn to drive mate

Joking aside - Jim's STI is one of the nicest Scoobs around. Real classic STI looks and it sounds great and it certainly ain't a slow car - so respect to Barry - it sounds like a real beast. I'm in the same area as Jim (roughly) so I'll keep a look out for you (and probably hide, when I see you coming )

Supra's are great cars, my mum has had one(UK)since 1995 when she brought it new (45K), its done about 30,000 miles and now worth about 18K, its a standard 326BHP but still shifts, would leave my STi 7 on the motorway easily, and its auto. When they came out a guy from Autocar I think took it to the autobarn and pulled 180MPH and it was still accelerating, and that was standard!

This is a very refreshing thread. The subaru got beaten, great. Doesn't bother me in the slightest because the Supra owner has been friendly, considerate and doesn't seem to have added 100bhp on to his power claim.

Keep it up guys

second that Wacky Banana and Saxoboy, nice to see some friendly banter about some great cars and some drivers having fun and respect for each other instead of all the childish ranting we have seen lately.

Jimi - Never mind mate, you should really take your driving test first

TT - Are you ever out and about in Hemel? I've seen a couple of Supras in the area and occasionally get a wave.

Great to see someone coming on the net to say I just got beat, only to find a reply from the guy who handed out the beating! Excellent, even if the scooby didnt win.

Personally Id probably try and avoid Supras, remember Gran Turismo? which car could you tune up to 1000bhp? yep Supra, well and Skyline I think. THey are pretty easy and cheap to make monster 400/500 bhp beasts!

Love to see us Scooby guys getting along with others, as someone said this board has got quite boring lately, respect to the Supra, but i would also like to say respect to the Scoob too, you will have too come off that roundabout a bit quicker next time Jim Nice too read something good for a change.
Cheers

Supra's don't seem to bother with me I think because they know that anything in the 0-60 region will be mine and anything thereafter theirs...so what's the point of proving what we already know. Still, I wanna play
