The evening I'm going to view a Impreza turbo with a strong possibility of handing over the deposit to buy it.
I'm not mechanically minded but are there any golden rules as to what to look out for when buying a used Subaru?
I will be getting the AA or RAC to inspect it before handing over the rest of the cash but I don't want to waste the money if it's something I should have spotted myself and walked away.

The car I'm viewing is an MY97 P reg.
4 Door
Unmodded from original spec apart from the manufacturer installed quick shift.
It's also got air-con fitted along with a CAT 1 alarm and immobiliser and Tracker.

Any advice would be very gratefully received!

Matt
