The only mod to make it any faster without affecting the warranty is the PPP.

PPP - Prodrive Performance Pack

You wont get much change from £2000 if it is a Classic Shape, MY00.

Consists of a re-mapped ECU, Exhaust backbox and centre section, and uprated intercooler pipework.

prodrive performance pack contains a new ecu, decat centre section of exhaust and a new back box section exhaust, gains about 25bhp and 35lb/ft cost around £2K for an MY00. Available from your friendly neighbourhood Subaru dealer. Also keeps your warranty intact.

If you arent worried about the warranty there are cheaper ways to gain power. Obviously affects your insurance as well.

Yes but the torque increase in the mid-range is quite addictive

Your right it is expensive. Your paying through the nose for the fact it doesn't affect your warrenty. When my car is finished it'll have cost a lot less than a PPP but will be much faster....of course if the engine blew up and I tried to claim from subaru they'd just laugh

Question

I'm in the same situation with an MY00. I have a Prodrive back box on at the moment (round tail pipe), but that's it. Is it worth waiting a year for the warranty to run out and then explore these other cheaper methods of gaining power, or is the PPP something that can be complimented with other mods at a later date and worth getting in the mean time? Also, could someone tell me if the PPP back box used is the same as the one I've had put on already, or is that going to have been a waste of money now?
