Another reminder to the regulars that when it bites it bites. Respect the Ring, get it wrong, and you have one smashed car, and possibly kill or seriously hurt yourself.
They were lucky, 80 mph into a tyre wall, yikes.

Its likely German CAR Insurance would not cover that either. Unlike UK insurace they don't pay out if you've been deemed to have been serously neglegent, racing and losing it on a corner would probably fall into that category..... 
. As I've quoted before Lift off Oversteer as has been popular with Scoobies on this site is NOT covered by Volkasko(FullyComp) insurance in Germany. If that happens your driving too fast.
