I've recently noticed that the electric windows have slowed down a lot, especially when they get near the top of the door, almost creeping up with no force at all. Are BOTH motors bust, or a power loss? Its only happened in the last week, but the windows never went up at great speed (compared to other vehicles electric windows anyway) anyway. Any ideas, and how much would it cost to replace?

Please advise, I've got this nasty feeling I won't be able to get that DVD head unit for a while now...

i had a similar prob with the drivers window on my my00 and after a while a piece of rubber popped out when i auto closed it.obviously this was inside the door sumwhere and had got snagged thus slowing it down.not sure where it came from but no probs now..i would suggest removing the door cards and checking for any similar obstruction before assuming your motors are knackered

Mine does it. So does my Nissan. Maybe the colder weather in the mornings hardens the rubber guides so the window drags. Better when the car warms up though. Time for some silicone spray me thinks

But this happens on both windows - so could be rubber hardening? But why does should this affect it more when the window starts to get ot the top?

Mine go slow somethimes, mainly when the car has not been washed for ages. Solution I found was to wash the car, then apply some of Halfords Ruber seal lubricant & preserver. Its in a yellow can (or was) and you speay onto a duster, then rub on all seals.

Always spray the halfords silicone spray onto a duster away from the car first. If you spray directly onto the rubber you'll know why....

Oh and try not to use the windows at all as they get scratched after a while.

Passenger side slowed to a painful speed on mine over the summer, mainly when the engine wasnt running - start the engine and there we are enough current to force it faster. Drivers side fine and rears fine - funny??

My front passenger window is damned slow. Come to think of it so are the backs. The only one that seems to work at a decent speed is the drivers one.

Think the problem is the excess rubber seal behind the side mirror housing.

On my old MY99 the windows got slower until a large piece of flat rubber came out with the window going up. Everything woked fine after that.

Do you have any rubber marks on the lower front corner of the window beside the mirror housing? If so, then this is probably your problem.

However, its one of "those they all do that sir" issues generally that come with having frameless windows of cr@p design...LOL

Thanks guys, pretty much what i was thniking intially and hoping it would be! How come the rubber sealer from halfords might cause scratches? Bit of a problem not using the windows as I'm kinda partial to a cigarette or two...
