my car was running really sweet, but ....
I decided to put a new set of plugs in after 12,000 & get a power run booked in for today. I phoned them to see how it was doing as it was booked in for 10am...it's now 12:30 & there still working on it...
didn't like the sound of that, gets dropped off at garage & I get told that new set of plugs went in, it was misfiring & running rough. They put the old plugs in & still running rough.
They then tell me that they shut @ 4pm & I will have to book it in for next week for a day.
So, how does that saying go...."If it ain't broke......"
To put the icing on the cake my water pump has gone on the saab as well....
scoob drives just not over 70.

I suppose they HAVE trried each plug lead in turn??????????????
My '98 turbo did something like this. My dad (ex RAF, Lancasters, electrician "If I can do the electrics on a 24 cylinder engine, I'm sure 4 cylinders are not going to phase me"), swore it was ignition.
After 3 visits to my dealer, they got an "Expert " from IM to look at it.
It was one plug lead braking down.
You could even have done the "damage" yourself, taking the lead off to put on the new plugs........................
Hope this is of help. Alcazar

Alcazar - thanks for the reply. I have spent 2 hours this morning trawling scoobynet & found this:
http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?ThreadID=74077
After reading all 6 pages about 3 times (interesting stuff btw), find myself still unsure of what the problem could be.
I know I will have to put it in somewhere to get fixed, but am thinking long & hard before I decide who....although don't appear to have many options.
I used to use Teesside Motor Factors in the north east & trusted them totally, they were excellent both technically & superb customer service, since moving to wakefield, I havn't found anywhere that gives me this.
I just don't want to end up with a £300 + bill & get ripped off.
The car was running perfectly before it went in, bit pi$$ed off that the garage gave me the car back not running properly.
I might give RN Golden a ring in huddersfield, they sound like a proffessional setup.
