Talking

My mate has a twin turbo supra coming next week so maybe an upgrade is called for to keep up!!! His car will have 350 - 380 bhp as it stands and he is talking about 500 bhp. Now without trying to be competitive, I don't want to loose the fastest car in the carpark title

What sort of power is your skyline now? I hear 400 is a sensible and reliable level with anything above 450 needing strengthened internals...
I've seen a few sensibly priced skylines around (r33's seem to start @ £15k and £18k or so will buy a goodie), what is the insurance like? (last year I was quoted £2.5k or something silly!!!)

jon
i will lay my cyber hands upon thee and convert thee ha ha!

ok, here we go.....

r33 gtr vspec. first thing we did was get rid of the suspension, its crap. now drives beautifully.
at the mo she's approx 400bhp.HOWEVER....

next month, she gets the works. steel twin turbos, modified cams, you name it, she gets it. for silly bhp (well over 750bhp ) you have to go single mega turbo, but then you talk silly money, and major reworking of internals.
i'm still learning about these cars, i learnt a lot about scoobys over the past 6 months, but these babys are a totally different ballgame.just about EVERYTHING can be done.they are built like tanks
after the work is done next month, we should be seeing approx 600bhp, should be more with new ecu.
sub 4 secs 0-60, warp 9 top speed
at present, my girlfriends ev06 cannot loose me. only when she drives like a maniac in the twistys do i have to back off, but once on the straights, she can kiss my ***
the sti5 couldnt loose it either.god knows what this beast will do in a months time
cost? i let my girlfriend have my sti5. she used that as part exchange for the evo ( which i loathe incidentally )
she paid 14.5k for it( the r33).
mods..aprox6k.
insurance 1.2k, but you need a tracker.
fuel? no worse than a scooby, honest.
chick factor? off the scale dump valves blow the girls skirts up at 50 paces

after engine mods? pearlescent respray in white with blue flip, with full blue leather retrim. cost? 3.5k.
dont get me wrong, i aint loaded, so the engine comes first, body work later.
what else can you get for 20k and have this much fun?
i'm more than happy to help in any way i can. any more questions, just ask. i'm still learning, and i'm no expert, but i firmly believe that this is the way to go.i will not buy a bug eye
