Question

Thinking of getting one cos its in the dealers now. Was told by the dealer that it is punchier at the bottom end and the power band is bigger than my uk99 cos of some tweaking. Is this true? Looked at SIDC questions and no mention of it. Thanks in advance, hope you dont mind the asap bit, but need to let dealer know asap

hi amanda, i am afraid that your dealer is talking out of his **** here. unless it had the performance pack added to it. the terzo is just a standard (MY98 I think )with cosmetic additions and that is it. if any thing it has the PHASE I engine and therefore it will have less power that the MY99.

although the tezo looks lovely, but i would go for a MY99 car, engine is better.

Wink

Play along with it and then lay the facts on the line!

He might drop the price in shock! There was one or two in sales recently, one was for £12k if you have a search.

Terzo has standard engine normally. Maybe your dealer's one has had mods, but it ain't faster just because it's a Terzo.

Loved mine, but hated it when I found the rear seat wouldn't fold down. A word of warning if you like carrying big things!

Sold my Terzo to a dealer for 12 grand, 27k miles, at Christmas.

Good luck

Insurance companies also have some difficulty with Terzo's. I think they have been listening to too much dealer waffle. I priced insurance for standard MY98, RB5 and Terzo last year. MY98 and RB5 where the same price, but the vast majority of insurers wouldn't quote me for the Terzo "cos its an import" WTF???

Hi Amanda

Information given is a fair representation of the facts. However, I drove ours back to back with Andys' and the 00 was (and remained)noticably slower though they are supposed to generate greater BHP.

You really need look at the cars available drive them and make a decision based upon your own preferences/budget. e.g. If a key criteria is Sonic Blue a UK 00 is not an option.

If you wish, drop me a line with spec and prices.

DONT FALL FOR THE ASAP LINE, unless it's an absolute gift.
There will always be another somewhere, get the right one ....don't get pressured into a decision !

Had to change insurance cover initially as the company wouldn't cover any Subaru model.

Beyond that no difficulty, picked up direct from their database. Far more difficulty with P1s until I realised they thought all were sold in year of manufacture so didn't list 2001.

I've got a Terzo and bl@@dy lovley it is too.

But as said above unless its been modded it the standard MY98 engine.

BEWARE - Make them start the car from cold in the morning. If it sounds like a tractor avoid like the plague, its a slapper

Watch out for dreaded overboost problem as well during blatts between 3.5K and 4.5k. This seems to happen on my standard MY98 during damp conditions and sometimes in 5th when warm. Can be a bit of a pain when overtaking. Take it for a long test drive !!!!

Happy driving
