hi all

just traded my sport in for a MY99 turbo.

should it have 1. a hill start clutch?
2. two fans on the radiator?

my MY97 sport had both of these and seems a bit strange that my new one hasn't

Clutch dunno. I don't have one.

The second fan on the radiator are normally fitted to air con cars.

thanks guys

kevin a hill start clutch allows you to lock the wheels up for a safe uphill start.

if you press the brake pedal whilst the clutch is disengaged then take your foot off the brake the car doesn't move. you can then use you right foot on the accelerator when ever.

Confirm that the MY99 does not have a hill-holder clutch. Indeed, I don't think any Turbo has one? Now someone will prove me wrong.... Wasn't aware that my MY'99 had two fans either, but can't check it 'cos I don't have it any more...

Dont know about fans but:-

The hill holder clutch works by locking the disc brakes as the car starts to roll backwards, the pads have a small ratchet type catch on them to lock into position. When the car is going down a hill it doesn't work, going up a hill the ratchet kicks in. So the clutch will not burn out all this does is stop you performing a typical hill start using the handbrake.

Oh yes, the WRX does not have a hill holder "clutch" as it is meant to impede the performance of the vehicle
