Question

For all the WW "veterans" out there (or Mark as I didn't want to wake you up on a Sunday )...

when putting on the wax it says to make sure you use the sponge side of the applicator - one side is foam and the other microfibre (the blue disc) - which side do I use?

if I've waxed the car, say on this weekend, is it wash for a couple of w/ends then wax in about another month? what schedule do you use given that I'm likely to be just getting it dusty / rained on in between?

Thanks

Apple

I found using the cloth side of the round blue thingie (I know you appreciate my technical terms ), applied too much wax.
I flipped it and tried using the sponge side, which did apply a nice, thin layer of wax but I just couldn't take any more of the screeching!
Now I just use the palm of my hand...leaves your hands smelling nice for hours

Apple,

You use the foam side of the wax applicator. I wash every weekend with the shampoo and wax every couple of months, after you have done a couple of waxes it becomes a quick and easy job as there is a good layer of wax still on the body.

Thanks for the info - I'll go out and make a start before it tips it down. Don't need raindances - just start washing the car

OK guys, I,ve been reading abt this stuff for ages, waiting for SOMEONE to post where it comes from, but no. So I have to ask, don't I? Where can I get it from, and is it better than Mer? Given that you can clean windows, even the windscreen with MER?

Apple...would not have worried me if you called me on Sunday. I was uip at 5am and on the road at 0530am. The line is open 7 days a week and including Bank Holidays inc Xmas. Yes somebody (mentioning no names called last Christmas as he wanted time out from kids, outlawa/inlaws etc).

The sponge side is the wax side and the cloth side for asgainst your palm.

Re cleanse (cleaner fluid) at around Easter again and again next October. In between was the car weekly and wax at least once per month. Mite be an idea to wax every two weeks for next 6 weeks thereby creating a "skin".

The more you wax (frequency) the better the finish becomes and its makes washing a very simple affair.

Any problems...call me seven days a week.

Thanks for that Mark

So far I've washed & waxed for 2 weekends running to try to get a skin on before the even more grotty weather starts Possibly same again coming up at 6hrs a go

I'll have a read through the manual again for the cleaner fluid.

Looks like the first bottle I'll run out of is the pre-wax oil - can I swap you one for the pneu?

What's the significance of two towels or is it one for after the pre-wax and one for after the wax or for drying the car after washing (I normally use a chamois leather)?

Did somebody say you can use wax on the windscreen? Wouldn't have thought it very safe if it smears. I used to use Rain Racer but that was when I did a lot of motorway miles and it worked in those conditions.

Thanks

Apple

PS who uses 20 litre buckets - you could sink the car in that much

Aye, I had a laugh at the 20 litre thing

WW makes washing the car a pleasure and nowhere near as hard work as Autoglym

Apple....already run out of cleaner fluid...bleedin hell!!! There is enuff in the bottle for at least 5 applications and you do these six months apart.!!

Towels...brown is for cleanse or cleaner fluid as the old cleanse last yr was brown. But heck and towel colour in the kit will do.

I have sent you by email a guide on how to prepare your car they way that I do them...insider info!

Just checked the scoobyworld.co.uk site for the Wax Wizard stuff.
They seem only to do the Swissol product range. Where do you get the WW stuff?

Thanks guys. That explains it.
Seems pretty expensive. Is it really worth the money and effort over products like Mer and Autoglym?
If yes, I'm happy to pay the extra.
