Here a quote from the Evo BB
"At Oulton Park yesterday, RC Developments took a Warrender EVO 7 they have tuned to 340 BHP for a Duke Video Head to Head against a Power Engineering 340 BHP Subaru 22B.
Despite the Scooby being on slicks and the EVO on SO2's, they both did exactly the same lap times
0-60 in the EVO was 4.1 seconds, Scooby 4.3.
EVOs rule KO!!"
It goes on to say "the Scooby was on Slicks worth 9 seconds a lap"!!???
Is the 22b owner out there?
I Don't belive this the writer must be an Evo Owner!!?

Kevin EVO 6 creamed a standard 22B with an EVO 6 with a free flow exhaust and filter.
BTW as you all know with GT3 doesn't matter about the car, it depends on the commitment!

Paul Waite, the originator of that thread has owned/owns a string of very tasty cars including Scoobs and Mitsis and an extremely fast (620bhp) Porsche.
He was simply posting the results of the tests

Doc Jock
Further in the thread Paul posts his still unbiased verdict
I can honestly say I'm not Matt. I really can't understand peeps choosing the Scoobs over the EVOs. At every single event where they go head to head I attend they are well and truly thrashed. I admit the EVO is not as pretty as the 'old' Scooby but as a petrol-head performance is all. All the talk of electronic aids reducing necessary driver input is tosh too
He might have owned some nice cars, but he talks crap. EVO's always trash STI's !!. Why wasnt the test using Warrenders tuned STI 7. The new shape car as with the EVO VII has a superior chassis over the 22B. The STI 7 on Autocars test was more than a match for the modifed EVO 7. Was the test with the same driver. Stef is faster than most 22B drivers, but does that make his UK car a better car ?.

Chins,
I will go along with that. Well said.
I always thought the object of unbiased car testing was to take;
1) cars designed 4 years or so apart.
2) different tyres
3) different drivers?
and then criticise the loser. There is no point in using an STi7 for a fair comparison now, is there?

The intention of the filming was to take footage from inside the cars of a track day, Dukes Video will complete the 'Track Day' video on 3rd August @Oulton.
Well that was the intention but the horns came out! I must say I had to work very hard to keep up with the 22B, and had a few more anxious moments than Peter Duke.
One thing for sure on the 3rd I won't be on road tyres, then we will have to see what happens !
The New Sti 320 (the one in Autocar 0-100-0) will be there as well.
