Question

Anyone really know when this model is coming over to UK??. I've spoken to 3 different dealers and they've all told me a different story. Some say early 2002, other late 2002 and one even said 2003..
Anyone know the score?. All agreed though that the Uk price would be the right side of £30k...
Gareth.

Gareth

I understand that the dealers have had a briefing from IM - or so my dealer tell me. The STI WILL be shown at Frankfurt, and then come to the UK early 2002. So the second coming of an official STI has been prohetised . Its also coming in two version, and limited numbers.

More to the point is.

What will be the spec ?
and
How much ?

As there are now stricter emmision laws, I'm guessing that the first version will boast 260 bhp, but Prodrive will offer a PPP to fit after first registration. This will be the second version.

I'll go for a wild stab and guess at the two versions

Version One

STI 7 with 260bhp
6 speed
bugzilla headlights
low level spoiler
17" gold wheels

£25,500

Version Two - P2 ?

STI 7 inc PPP - 285bhp
18" Gold Wheels
WRC style rear spoiler
Uprated and Lowered Suspension
UK300 driving lights
Colour Coded
P2 mats

£29,995

Would they sell in this spec ?

Jonathon,

I'm sure they would sell very well at those prices, and it would certainly tempt me to change cars

a scooby for 35k!!!
you gotta be kiddin'! surely the point of a scooby is bangs for bucks value. how much will a P1 be worth a year from now with its depreciation? a new sti7 could tempt me, for 25k ( and i do mean the 285bhp version), but 35k?? nah, i'd rather have a nearly new r34.
how close is the focus cossie? if thats out in the next couple of years, that could be very tempting. just depends on price i s'pose.
IM overcharged for the P1, be a shame if they did it again.

Thumbs up

STi 7 (Euro version) will be at the Frankfurt motorshow in September.

Hopefully demo versions will hit dealers Nov/Dec time.. And customer ones early next year..

Apparently... heard it in the wind

Rob,

The standard WRX goes for $70,000.00 AUD here in Greece and the average wage here is only $12,000 AUD per annum. The STI is going to go for around $110,000.00 AUD. Only the rich can have a scoob here. There is only about 300 Rexes, here. What a difference form when I was in Australia, even the unemployed had rexes there. The 300 rexes I quoted is for the whole of Greece and it includes all year models. The Impreza 1.6 TS model here, goes for what a rex goes for in OZ.
