Highest spec car?
#1
Can someone please tell me what the highest spec new type Impreza is. Thinking about changing mine Stiv6, I am looking for something that has far better brakes and much harder suspension, I am fed up with driving a car that is in essence just a road car, I am looking forsomething that is much nearer to a Wrc car.At the moment the only car that is possible is dare I say it an Evo7 Extreme, antilag etc!
I hope someone can give me some ideas, many thanks Keith.

Spend some money on mods, it's more fun that way.
If you are not a mech type, get one of the aftermarket outfits like scoobysport, tsl, brd etc to get the parts and do the work for you.
You can have the car you want, but even a standard EVO is relatively tame, although the EVO Extreme (is that the name?) is supposed to be good for 380ftlb of torque and 360hp. But that is essentially a importer modified EVO, using an aftermarket engine management system, exhaust etc.
If you want to go for a good spec without an engine rebuild, expect to get about 360hp from your scoob. You are looking at possibly a hybrid turbo, front mount intercooler, bigger injectors, uprated fuel pump, uprated clutch, exhaust system, aftermarket ECU/custom mapping. Costing about £6,000 ish with some labour.
If you want bigger brakes and coilover suspension expext to pay about £1800 fitted for brakes, £1200 fitted for coilovers and about £500 bushes, anti roll bars, suspension tweaks and alignment.
As always you could spend more/less than above, but it's down to you.
