sorry to hear it...I can sympathise. Years ago, in the space of two weeks, the following happened to my mk1 golf cabrio :

Alternator died...replaced it...drove that weekend to oxford.....parked up for the night...received a police notice for not displaying tax disc(car was taxed but disc was lost during journey from post office to car..honest!!)...threatened with a £500 fine.

Roof slashed in two places, the wednesday after and jacket stolen from rear parcel shelf....Drove to Camden market to console myself that saturday....got back to the car to find the passenger door had been forced open and the stereo ripped crudely from the dash.....one week later...went for a late one in Archway..was leaving at 3am and someone ran upto to the window and put their size twelves through, showering glass everywhere.

I just place bear traps around my car now...touch wood my scoobs been fine.

Hope you have more luck in future!!!

Went to the car this morning only to find the rear window smashed in.

Ah the joys of ownership.

I take it that wasn't the Honda then?

*****, there's some w4nkrs out there. Commiserations mate, don't let 'em get you down.

Security film wouldn't stop them from smashing the glass again, but it would make it damn hard to get into. Either tinted or clear...

Cem,

You have to be the unluckiest person I know when it comes to cars.

Just from memory I seem to recall the following incidents:

1) Mr Canadian who kicked your car and got away with it.

2) Someone putting dog poo on the bonnet

3) Crappy metro bumping into you and then blaming you

4) Independent Insurance going belly up and then you getting comical insurance quotes

5) and now this.

Seems to me that it is now pretty much impossible to own anything decent these days without somebody who thinks the world owes them a living smashing them up.

Have to say I am begining to think is it really worth all the money and hassle owning the Impreza when you can't park it anywhere for fear of it getting vandalised and you can't drive it properly because the police think of performance car drivers as worse than sex offenders.

People like that really **** me off. What do they actually get out of doing stuff like that. Do they really go home that night on a high after doing something like that. I've only had my car 2 weeks and I have to admit I'm worried if I park in a carpark or in a high street. All it takes is one key and thats your paintowrk ruined. If I caught someone doing that I really don't know what I'd do.

Sorry to hear about that Cem,
What I do, Which at the very least makes me feel better is bunging a car cover over me motor if I have to leave her on the street.
If scrots even want to look at her properly then its ten minutes work removing it or cutting the cover off.
Seems to slow the bastids down if nothing else.

Cem, it was probably Puff trying to find somewhere to sleep for the night - I expect your Evo is more comfy than his sofa.

(Seriously though, bad news mate.. hope it doesn't cost you too much to repair)

Thanks for your concern, all.
Nothing was taken from the car, which has left me thinking that it was a purely spiteful attack.

Can anyone blame me for getting angry with the Police Force at the moment? All their energies are being channeled towards this pathetic anti-speeding campaign whilst personally, I have been subject to so much crime lately I often wonder if there are any fricking police at all.

We need to make the UK a safe place again, stop being so lenient on criminals and start setting an example not only to our own nation, but also to the rest of the world and show them that we aint taking any **** anymore. I can't even walk to my own local McDonalds at night because of the big immigrant gangs that hang around in this 'hood'. The current Police crime figures indicate that we have a serious problem in London, perhaps we should start channeling that energy into something more constructive.

Why can't I park my car in the street at night without fear of vandalism or theft? Because the little fvcks know they can get involved in minimum risk with minimum repercussions.

The UK is becoming a pathetic place, led by example from the likes of the media in the name of profit and status, look at the Archer case. I mean, who the fvck cares if he is in prison? I wanna know if a fraction of that legal effort is placed into making Britains streets safer again.

I'm sick, been off work a week with the worse flu, and pretty annoyed so apologies for making this sound like a holier than thou lecture.

Cem
(thanks again)

Nope - bang on what you've said. We had our windows put through at work more times than we can remember in the past, been burgled numerous times and we've yet to see any of the tossers caught. Hence, we have to spend thousands on security instead of more useful stuff.

The recent statement by the officer from the Met that violent crime and burglary should be a higher priority than speeding was hopefully some daylight...

Yep.....

And even if you caught the b@stards at it and tried to intervene you must use "reasonable force to restrain" them. Anymore and you get nicked for assault....worse than that they might be carrying a weapon and inflict some serious damage on you.........

So you just do it the correct way and ring the police, who turn up later when they've gone...

Again not a full on rant, but this is happening more and more as they know the chance of getting caught is minimal, with a minimal sentance if they do........

Deterrent used to be the word....bring it on.....

Completeley fed up with mindless vandilsim thats happened on 3 of my motors in the past......oh but the day will come

Cem,

sorry to hear about your car m8 ... especially as you're not well either ....

No consolation I know ... but the Met says it will concentrate on serious crime rather than focussing on speeding drivers etc ... let's hope they do ....
