Foreign petrol

Simple really, just make sure you pick a green pump.
In France go for 'Sans Plomb' or 'Super Sans Plomb' (Sans Plomb = without lead. Geddit?)
In Germany, Shell Optimax higher RON rating than in the UK (98>100 I think) which would be worth a go.
Don't know about Austria but wherever you are, it should be cheaper than in the UK!
Luxembourg is one of the cheapest places but where I live in Switzerland, 98RON super is only 56p per litre!

Thanks for the info. I was wondering what the high altitude would do to my fuel economy, but at those prices I don't really care
Cheers,

Hi folks.
I'm off on holiday driving across Europe in the Scoob next week (MY00 UK Turbo). Does anyone out there know what sort of petrol I should be putting in (I believe continental petrol has different RON ratings to the UK?), and what it will be called on the petrol pumps in France and Germany / Austria.
Thanks,
Iain

In Germany Super is RON98 classification and is currently abou DM2.02 per litre, about 66p of your UK money BTW beer is the same price from the shops with half litre bottles and cans coming in at DM1 each, available from most ESSO stations However I don't recommend using that ovber the Super if you've done any mods ....LOL...
