Got beaten by my mates 355 last night! (was to be expected)
But I didn't do too badly considering its still limited.
Once its chipped I reckon I'll keep with him!

Boys......this is a rediculous comparison!!!
You can fit 5 people in - he has a 355
Yours only cost 7k - he has a 355
Yours wasnt to far behind - he has a 355
See my point?, Ferrari's are not purely about speed, they are about LOOKING THE BOLLOX!!!

Hey I know that! I'm only joking around!
However, I don't have an 60k on my mortgage!
Infact, I don't have a mortgage at all lol
He got a lot of attention last nite!

yeh, believe me, i am the biggest ferrari fan there is, and my all-time fave has been the f355 spider, and then came the 360 spider!
but dont get me wrong, the thing about scoobs, is that u an work on these things underneath the hood, and not do any real work externally and these normal looking cars on the road, can blow away about 80% of the vehicles on the road!
Mu-hahahahahahahahah

Can't really respond to that TomM.....you just can't compare a scooby to a ferrari.
Shame co55ie can't grasp this simple concept. He still believe's his cars the best in the world!

I used to go to a Corolla board before I got my scooby, and there was a guy who said he had an RS500 cossie who did the exact same things as Co55ie.......only intention is to **** off other board users. No point even responding to them.........

My point exactly Mr Saxo!!
Ive only ever been in one, that was a 355 Berlinetta and it was my old bosses, we drove through Picadilly, about 90% of the people stopped dead to look at it and people point and stuff - very amusing, then when we got onto the A4 coming out.......the noise from thatr engine was the closest Ive come to my head exploding with joy (car related!) - Awesome!!!!!
He sold it and has now got a yellow one!, and a new Range Rover and a Merc E55 AMG.......I dont work there anymore!.....sob sob!!

Well my mates took me out in his 355 and went flat out up to about 125........it's amazing but for some reason I thought it would feel faster. He has done 170mph in it, but on a race track of course

The 360 spider is nicer in my opinion. There was one parked in the car park at my gym and there was a continuous crowd of guys round it looking and dreaming. Fortunatly they/and me were all well behaved and didn't touch......can't say those tailpipe's were not tempting though

If I had a Ferrari, I'd love the attention but I wouldn't like the constant crowd of people round your car thing! You couldn't leave it anywhere!!

its quite nice actually, when u own a car like that
any of those supercars, and people dont gather round ur car, getting there grubby mits over it and trying to nick something off it...
with these, its like there is an invisible barrier.. of respect
why cant thugs just admire OUR cars, instead of trying to abuse them????

Ferraris get you ******.
your scooby gets snatched.
I don't see the point of comparison.
Much as I love the GTR, and it will beat most of them hands down (except F40, F50, the new F60) it aint a Rari and never will be. Ferraris (well 355) have serious class, poise, handling, and just georgeos.
And that is why they are 70k. And the ladies know it.

People buy scoobies cos they're cheap
people buy Ferraris cos they're expensive
They are a totally different type of car, so you're right in saying they aren't to be compared. I just wanted to confrim that the point of this thread was not to compare the two cars!!

I still think the 355 and the F40 are the best looking cars Ferrari have made. The 360 and the new Enzo might be better cars but the looks just don't do it for me in the same way. I mean don't get me wrong they are still nice looking cars but in IMHO the 355 and the F40 just look class. Classic lines. I am not a big fan of the gaping huge holes on the front of the 360 and the Enzo.
Strange really seeing as usually I am a big fan of this kind of styling but they just look wrong on these cars in my opinion. I know they serve a purpose but other cars maange to incorporate air intakes without looking like a goofy kid who has gaps in his teeth.
A lot of cars seem to be going this way. The new Porches and Lambo are 2 others that spring to mind. I prefer the previous generation 993 and the Diablo to the new offerings. They seem to have been over designed by funky art designers and have lost their meen purposeful looks. Anyone else agree or am I talking b******s (has been known to happen )

Well I think the new Enzo looks really nice, but I do love the 355, infact I think everyone does!
Its amazing that you can pick most of the older Ferraris up for under £20k now. I saw a massive article about them in a Classic car mag....... Just think, when I'm about 50 I'll be able to have a 355! ha ha

I am havinh a problem with raks,
sorry mate but you cannot be the bigegst ferrari fan ever if your favourite is the 355 spyder.
Real ferrari fans appreciate them for what they are, drivers cars.
The spyders (possibly excluding newly rigid 360) are posers cars not drivers cars.
The only one is the 355 GTB with open gate 6 speed manual.
JJR1, whene were you in puerto banus, I didnt see you!
I was thinking I would love to take the 22B to puerto banus.
can you imagine, pushing your way through the port, everyone stopping you from getting past then just switching on antilag and watching everyone hit the deck thinking its machine gun fire.
I guarantee they have neevr seen a 22B before, but ferraris and lamborghinis are common place down there, so they dont tend to turn heads!

i have actually always been a fan of the drop-top version of almost every car, apart from the odd few
for me to appreciate a ferrari, u are right, it has to be the driver appeal. and after driving a rosso 355, i would never disagree.
but to put the two together, is my dream machine.. therefore my opinion on the 355 spider.

Not keen on the latest Ferraris. The 360 lookers germanic and the Enzo is hideous. 355 was a great looker but my fave is the 512BB on carbs rather than the later injection model. Mmmm that noise !
Still not as good a noise as the DeTomaso Pantera though.

To beat a Ferrari 355 with the same driver ability a Scoob needs a lot of power over standard! Unless it is raining.
A 360 needs an awful lot of power over standard - they will do 0-100 in less than 9s - a Scooby would need in excess of 400bhp to achieve that.

The best race I have had since I have had my STi V5 (last 20 months) was a 20+ mile race along the M4 from Reading and onto the M25 against an X reg red 360. He was not able to overtake me once. I had to let rip and leave it in fourth but the lightness, agility and traction of the scoob meant that I could cheat by inside overtaking.
Never sweated in a race like that and the sight of the 360 in my rear vciew mirror is one I won't forget. I was so pleased with my SCooby that day as this 16K Jap tincan stood its ground against a supercar. Glorious machines. Can never see myself owning one as I'd be too scared to park it anywhere.
When I get 40K I'll get a 911 turbo (933). Now thats an everyday supercar.

I did not find the 355 expensive and the 22b cost more as you cannot really upgrade a 355 and I keep adding to the 22b. Petrol is a lot worse in my 22b about 100 miles to a tank. The only problem was the buttresses on the 355 that have to be resprayed every 2 years £1000.00. I like the 22b, but you could drive the 355 slowly and still enjoy the car because the ride was nice on soft setting, where as you feel you have to nail the 22b all the time.
