Researching Euro Import any advice?
#1
I want research buying a new Imp in Europe.
Things I'd want to take into consideration include OTR, Warranty, Depreciation, Specification and so on.
Does any have any experience they could share?
Best regards
Jason

Jason, there's a thread from a couple of days back with the information you need on it...
In short, do it. You'll save a small fortune and get the same spec car if you use someone who knows their **** from their elbow: Iain Litchfield (see banner ad), Keyring cars and if going direct to a Dutch garage appeals Autobedrijf Gertjan Van Der Velde will all sort you out. 16-17k should see you in a full UK spec RHD car. If going direct to Holland, add an alarm into the equation (as little as 300 quid), registration fee (25 quid) and transport costs (100 quid ferry from Rotterdam to Hull!)
Depreciation is largely unknown, but I know of someone who recently sold their 2000W for UK 2nd hand money, hardly losing anything after a year's motoring...
...which is nice
Warranty: Expect 1 year only. Belgian sourced cars supposedly come with 3, but I'd not like to try to claim in years 2 and 3. Use it as an excuse to modify the car
Drop me a mail if you want more info.
Gertjan's contact details: +31 186 661556. Tell him Nick sent you otherwise I don't get my commission (I wish!)
