For anyone looking better brakes without spending the huge sums of money for most kits available, You wont go to far wrong than to give Godspeed motorsport a ring. I have just had his new scoob kit using 330mm discs, big pads and the standard scoob 4 pots. I have to say how amazing they are, no matter how hard I try, they just wont fade, and can make the ABS work mega overtime. Tried them on Croft, no problems ( unlike the driver!). They also look the dogs ********, all for just under £500. cant go wrong.

Do you know if they fit under the std. 16inch wheels?
Also is the brake disc, bell mounting type?
Please try to post some pictures.

Carlos,

I would doubt very much if 330mm discs would fit under the standard 16 inch wheels.

No, this particalar kit does not fit under 16" wheels. But they do a 308mm disc kit, identical to mine that will fit. I will try and send you pictures, and yes the discs are bell mounted. Or you could try there web site for a contact number

Question

What do you mean by big pads, are this different in size to the stock ones, or do the stock 4 pots need machining?

These are not subaru fitment

How does this help? Surely the contact patch is largely governed by the size of the pistons? For example, if the pad was 2mm all round bigger than the caliper, the outside edge wouldn't be pushed onto the disc with much force.

Carl , I can see how you are thinking that , You would be right if the pads were capable of bending , but they don't , so the pads have an equal force applied to the whole pad , We use the bigger pad in our 325mm & 335mm kits because the discs pad area is wider than a standard disc , The pads we use are off another car and are a lot bigger than the standard pads.Cheers , Ian

Question

Ian,

What type of pads are used ? (are they easy to find?).
Also when used for a track day, are their performance pads, such as Pagid's, Mintex available in this size.
In case of a Subaru WRX with 16 inch wheels, what size of kits do you have .....

Carlos , If you have 16" wheels with the Subaru four pot calipers we have a 294mm disc and bell that is a direct replacement to the standard discs , You do not have to modify the car in any way whatsoever , The discs are far better in performance and reliability from the one piece disc , The larger pads we use in the 325mm/335mm kits are available in most performance compounds , This kit will not fit under standard 16" wheels , Hope this helps , Ian ,

Well, after much thought and a promised written guarantee that they won't warp within the years warranty, I've ordered a set as well.
I'll be doing a track day soon so I'll see how they compare to Pagid discs!
Talk to you Tuesday Ian.
Regards
Steve

Question

Being a peasant, I need a cheap method of stopping my 95 turbo.
It suffers from fade under hard use.
Can anyone suggest good pads that could help?

Must say I am not too impressed with the service to date.
The brakes do look great but I have rang 10 times ... always answerphone. Left two messages to call on Thursday last week ... still no response.

Must do better....

I'm involved in a bulk buy from these guys with some chums of a Rover mailing list. The guy who's been speaking to the chap in charge says that the phone doesn't get answered much as they guy is so busy making up the kits, email will always get a response at some point. I'm getting a set of 325mm disks with 4 pots, all the fitting bits and we've done a deal for 5 sets at £575, which is pretty darn good. I know other people with kits from Godspeed who rate them highly. Looking forward to getting mine in a week or two

Ceri , Cheers for sorting pictures out , Markab , If you have the four pots fitted this kit will fit your car , We are also looking in to buying some Subaru 4 pots to either offer as an exchange item and spray them like we did to Ceri's , Or offer them with the discs ect for people who have the two pots fitted at the moment ,
Chambjj , Sorry not to get back to you thursday , I will call today , Been away rallying at Longcross over the weekend and had to sort the car out end of last week , Mook , Thanks for your comments , You will not be disapointed ,
Greenscoob , The discs and bells we supply doesn't bring the caliper any closer to the wheel spokes , It will bring it outwards by 20mm , If you look at the first photo you can see the clearance left between wheel and caliper , I will say 99:99999 sure they will fit ,
Rosco (steve) , got your order through , I will contact you today for delivery details , Many Thanks ,Ian ,

Ian.
Do you really guarantee the discs against cracking and warping for 12 months??
My AP discs only last 4 or 5 months!!

Stef , I will guarantee my discs against warping for either 1 year or until there at their minimum thickness , If you take to the track the discs will eventually crack , the way my discs will not crack as quick as the ones you have fitted is because mine are thicker , our 325mm discs are 30mm thick and the 335mm discs are 32mm thick , Yours are only 28mm thick so cannot take as much heat , which is why they dont last you very long , If you are going to do a lot of track days you will eventually crack your discs , Any make , what I am saying is if the discs warp , through cracking or heat distortion I will change them , Cheers , Ian

This actually looks like a good idea!

The problem I have always had with P1 brakes is the fade and the fact that the disks are made of soft cheese!!!

Larger higher quality disks should fix that!! (+ some braided pipes to improve feel)

OK I'll admit this won't match the ultimate stoping power of AP 6 pots, but to me it looks like the set up P1's should have had in the first place...

Hmm where's my credit card (think my wife has hidden it )

Has anyone got this new set up on their car apart from Ceri?
I've had mine on order since 21st June and I was promised it at the latest by last Friday!
I can't get hold of Ian by phone after leaving several messages and previously has only responded by e-mail.
Is anyone else having the same problems or is it just me?
Come on Ian, if there is a problem you only have to phone me to let me know, don't keep me waiting in the dark!!!
