I've just done one and worked out at around £2.50 per mile!!!!!. That includes car payment, petrol, insurance & servicing but does not include depreciation, tyres, brakes etc.

did mine over 8 months excluding depreciation and it works out at 64.7p per mile.
However that doesn't include gearbox and new clutch fitted yesterday at £1,490!!!!
PS insurance = £800
Check your calculator !

I can assure you that when that amount came up on the calculator, I checked it 3 or 4 times. The major factor in this calculation is that I have only done 1500 miles in 6 months of ownership!!!!

Insurance £3000
First year service £5000
Depreciation £30,000
£31.66/mile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the true pence per mile you have to include the following :
Fuel
Insurance
Repairs
Servicing Costs
Tyres
Depreciation (which will be the biggest cost)
I guess the average cost to run an Impreza is 70 Pence per mile.

Even with them loosing a fair bit more value of late with da 4thkuming MY03 etc i still reckon biggest expense is insurance NB MY97 so most depreciating already dun Although if u include MODS then it'd b astronomical. But ignoring that then i'm a fair distance away from a quid a mile it must b sumin 2 do with me driving like a saint lol

I always try to avoid working out things like this, which make you realise what stupid amounts you've spent.
Since I sold the scooby a couple of months ago though, I've noticed an extra £600 nestling in my bank account each month - that's £7200 per year for those of you without a calculator. Then you've got the £3500 that I lost in depreciation in just over 12 months...
So financially it was the best decision I ever made. If I ever buy another scoob (I would love one again) I would learn from this, pay around the 8k mark and buy a runaround for travelling to work.

don't include your capital repayment just the interest.
The capital is more of a cashflow issue, after all your paying it back it's not a cost, the interest is.
Do include depreciation though
