FAO SDB New Forums Required?
#1
Simon, A couple of ideas for new forums.
One urgent, the other useful.
I think it would be a very good idea to create a gran turismo 3 forum before Jul 20th. Because that's when, it seems half of scoobynet will be playing it and wanting to post high score, hints etc. It can go in non scooby related but I fear it will swamp it.
I guess you could also call it Gaming.
I nominate blowdog to moderate the new GT3 forum
The other forum is the speeding and police forum. Most of the General area has been taken up with these kinda threads and having a single store in which to read them would be very useful. It would also de-clutter the general forum even more.
A third thing, are you up for some more Chat icons?

Simon can you make Sal a Moderator of a Lady section where all the women post. Then we know what ladies are online to email and ask for pics!! LOL
Joke, honest

I also think a Jobs/Career/Networking forum would be good, and who better to moderate it than me
With my recent unemployment, and the NavTrak site I designed for Puff I see Scoobynet as a great place to swap work tips, and gain useful contacts (as a bonus to the main bbs you understand).
It would be good to have a forum specifically for jobs, contacts, networking, contract work and so on as we have such a massive range of skills on the board - why not use them to help each other and earn a few quid?
What do you think?

OK...
I've put a LOT of thought into this since Cem pointed it out to me yesterday.
There are many forums I would like to add, but the further we get away from scoobs, the more diluted the forum list will appear and the less we will appear to be the superb resource for subaru information that we are..
so..
How about this..
We are going to launch the new software soon which is all developed in-house and affords us the ability to make additions / changes to the features at will (time permitting)..
I suggest we do this...
remove the "non-scooby realted" forum..
add a new section heading (like AOB, Technical) called "Non-Scooby Related Forums" which will just be a link to a sub BBS called something like "ScoobyNet - Non-Scooby Related" which will have sections such as...
<B>AOB</B><UL TYPE=SQUARE><LI>General</UL>
<B>Gaming</B><UL TYPE=SQUARE><LI>GT
<LI>World Sports Cars
<LI>GPL
<LI>Unreal Tournament
<LI>Etc</UL>
<B>Jobs</B><UL TYPE=SQUARE><LI>IT
<LI>Non-IT</UL>
etc
etc
The community is big enough now, that there is a benefit in us talking about everything that concerns a community, not just about subaru's.
Thoughts?
Cheers

Scooby Regular
After visiting the recent MAXPOWER LIVE show........and no i'm not embarrassed!!!! (nor would you be, if you had seen my video footage!!!!!!!! ) I think we should have a "Best Breast Forum". Let's be honest, I can lay my hands on at least a few **** on here!!!!!!! Perhaps Sal would like to be a moderator.....but she would have to post some pics to start it!!!!!
Seriously........this would be a good idea, as the community is growing and I believe some threads are edging towards other topics other than Scoobies.
Shaun.
For FORD stuff, including other useful info

Hi
Very interesting thread, personally the idea of some new forums dedicated to outside the main Scooby theme would be very welcome, i'm never to sure where to post for help on things other than scooby, the idea of having an IT forum could be really good, the help i've had on that subject alone has been FAB !
Go for it Simon... it can only do us all a power of good (IMHO)

Simon,
the sub-bbs sounds like a very good idea indeed.
You're missing one forum from it and that is:
*Submarines
tis a sub bbs after all (groan!)

I agree that A GT forum may be good or just a general gaming forum.
The Networking type forums may (only may) undermine some of the advertising space revenue form the site. After all if someone is trying to guild a commercial venture then prehaps they should invest in it?
The Same applies for Jobs.
I see a lot of IT questions, but not enough for thier own forum, also if we have one then prehaps this will get overused by non ScoobyNet people?
There are other IT forums on the net that may be better to use, its the low number of IT questions that enable them to get answered properly (if you know what I mean)
Speeding an Police forum is ok.
