Just drove a Civic TR - Whats all the Fuss?
#1
Just test drove the Civic Type - R.. Up the motorway and then a nice blast down my favourite backroad..
Whats all the bleedin fuss about... what a let down!!!!
My old 306 Gti-6 felt loads more solid! And as quick!
Stearing feels dead.... wallows in the corners...
You sit high up in what feels like an MPV....
Brakes were.. well ... average to good... but not as good as my WRX's..
I prefer the interior of my WRX...
Looked nice in Black... but not overall as nice as my Moretted Bug-Eye
Speed wise... its fairly quick but didn't feel ANYWHERE near as quick as my MY01 WRX PPP. Not in the same league!!!
.. before you ask - yes i revved it hard. And cornered to the point where the wheels squealed (which didn't take much effort )
I'd buy an old 306 and spend a few grand modding it rather than flush 15k down the bog on that!!!
VERY DISAPOINTING - 5/10 - Nice engine - crap car.

Sorry, sounds like you must have got a bad one. Try taking out another one from a different dealer, you may have been unlucky with the one you tested. They are very good in the right hands, and damn near handle as well as a Scooby but need a different mind set to the Scooby, but once you get used to the V-TEC engine they will fly.
Recaro interior is to die for, I went for the Scooby, close call though.

I've been in one of these, not driving as a passenger.
I didn't think it was that quick either, no push in the seat power I get in my car, but then saying that they are down in power compared to a scoob on paper. Not bad for the 16k new price though.

Same here. I've been taken out for a spin in a CTR demo and it just didn't feel that fast....just OK. Everyone else who had gone out in it said otherwise. It rev'd and rev'd but it just didn't have that 0-100 in 16's feel. Maybe its missing that turbo rush?
